OOP is out and Marat is 3rd on Straus Stadium - not before 4pm (local time) On the doubles front - Marat and Igor beat the top seeds in the draw!!! ;D Kunitsyn/Safin Upset Top Seeds In Los Angeles
Russians Igor Kunistyn and Marat Safin ousted the top seeded duo of Argentine Lucas Arnold Ker and Brazilian Bruno Soares 6-4, 6-3 on Monday in Los Angeles to advance to the Countrywide Classic quarterfinals. Both teams were playing together for the first time.
Kunitsyn achieved his best ATP-level result of the season on clay at Roland Garros, reaching the semifinals with compatriot Dmitry Tursunov (l. to Nestor-Zimonjic). Safin notched his first doubles win of the season in his fourth main draw appearance.
The Russians next face the American duo of James Cerretani and John Isner, who teamed up to defeat 2002 doubles champion Sebastien Grosjean and partner Florent Serra 6-2, 6-4. Cerretani and Isner are also making their partnership debut this week.

Nice Win Guys!! ;D ;D Thanks Sabz.! Some more pics from the match: thanks for the piccies! ;D ;D ;D Marat is good in playing doubles. Hope he will play more doubles in the future! In addition to the championship that he teamed up with Dima in Kremin, he got into quarterfinals with Micha in 2006 Cincy as well. (They could've gone further. They beat big seeded teams! Unfortunately, Marat was playing quarterfinals the day he got hit, couldn't serve, couldn't bend.......) Best of luck on tomorro'w match against Isner. Looking forward to it so much!!! DAVAI MARAT!!

Aw, my Big Pixie is still showing off at the net. LMAO. Keep it up. Against Isner, that's probably a tactic you'll need to employ. Isner's a pretty big hitter if I remember rightly and will no doubt keep hitting the ball back in play waiting for an error. Be stubborn (!) and don't hand it to him!
Well done on the doubles - play them more often. And keep up the yoga as part of our anger management programme. No racquet smashing allowed. New regime, boy. Let's see you in the Lotus position on the practice courts ...
Cybercoach
PS I couldn't resist the 'Russian meltdown' T-shirt. Have ordered one - and a 'Cool Swede'. Will wear them at Wimbles next year!
