Result was to be expected. Not a great match but a solid match - he kept his head up. Good job, Marat! I'm too drunk to write more (lena refused to have more than half a glass of wine so I had to drink the rest if the bottle  ) so I'll refrain from more comments. Wawrinka is the obvious opponent for round two and he should be harder to beat than Dancevic. Still, our guy can and will do it; I stay optimistic! Thanks for posting all the pics and the interviews!  I'll better sleep off the alcohol otherwise I'll suffer at work tomorrow  Good night everyone! |

Tactics for Wawrinka He's had knee problems this year, so his confidence/fitness might be suspect. Cruel, but run him around the court with some solid groundstrokes. Just keep the ball in as long as possible. Nadal beat him with his heavy shots - hard courts seem to trouble him more. But still make the oppportunities to open up the court and come in. Remember, man in black ... and shirt changes. Cybercoach I'm away to watch the rest of the tennis. |

by the way, have a request, did anyone of you guys see the cort interview? the stupid canal+ talked and showed the stats so I missed all of it! all I heard was the crow bursting in laughters!
did anyone see it plz, or have a link to see it again, or can say what he said then?

Good result for Tim. ;D He played about 75 (!) net shots and won over 50%. See Big Yin, net play can overwhelm the big hitters from the baseline. If he keeps it going, would be good to see Tim beat Rafa in the third. (He looked jittery today). Another coaching tip I've picked up, read this one a few weeks ago. Apparently a huge number of players go on court and are not properly hydrated before a match, never mind during it. Scientists discovered that the body functions better with milk as opposed to water or sports drinks - don't ask me to go into the scientific detail. But, the body apparently takes longer to dehydrate and have muscle cramps if milk has been consumed. There you go Big Yin, drink a pint of semi-skimmed before you go on court. Could get you through a vital 5 setter. Have Gummy sitting courtside with an extra pint just in case. You owe the girls a shirt change for that tip. |

It says Marat's now 6ft-5in? and the PMI, what did he say exactly? .......oh, of course it's not a good word...PM me? and yeah, Annie...thanks for the pics...
