Monfils pulls out of US Open with hamstring injury 8/23/2007 5:57:00 PM
NEW YORK (AP) -Top-50 player Gael Monfils of France pulled out of the U.S. Open on Thursday with a right hamstring injury.
Monfils, once ranked as high as No. 23 and currently No. 44, will be replaced in the draw by a player who lost in qualifying.
The 20-year-old Monfils, who won three junior Grand Slam titles in 2004, is considered an up-and-coming star on tour. He reached the third round at each of this year's first three majors.

A little fan report as a warm up (not much of Marat in there but entertaining nonetheless): www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=108647I read in some other thread that Marat is practicing in the mornings these days! Wow, that's what I call ambition. ;D Or maybe the old age doesn't let him sleep in anymore...

Wow, that's what I call ambition. ;D Or maybe the old age doesn't let him sleep in anymore... I got a better idea... Maybe Gumy dragged him out of his bed to practice...LITERALLY ;D ;D well, it's a good thing..that he goes to practice early not being dragged out of bed...it's good for the stamina, especially getting s breath of fresh morning air...I hope it works wonders on him...
