LMAO Is Djokovic trying out for a part in a vampire B-movie? I shouldn't laugh. My collar looked like that at Wimbles as well. It really made me laugh. Even these guys get photos that we'd all rather forget. PS Soderling pulled out? I didn't even know Big Yin/Bird/Rab was playing today! I still can't grasp these time zones! Excellent. Rafa next round ... think I'll try to get away early from work. I take it it won't be the first match on in the morning ...

Safin snubs ATP betting probe Tue 07 Aug, 10:48 PM
MONTREAL (AFP) - Marat Safin is steering well clear of the gambling probe currently underway on the ATP centered on a match last week in which Russian compatriot Nikolay Davydenko withdrew injured.
"They can do whatever they want," said the charismatic former number one, who advanced into a Wednesday meeting with defending Montreal champion Rafael Nadal, advancing 1-2 when Swede Robin Soderling fell victim to a wrist injury.
"I don't want to be involved in any of it. I don't want to make any comments. I don't care."
Safin, the quintessential outsider who has made his own unique way in the game, is more concerned with trying to recover the form which led him to US and Australian Open titles, the last over Roger Federer in 2005.
In the match that started the drama, Davydenko, ranked fifth in the world, withdrew mid-match with a foot injury at a tournament in Poland.
The ATP launched an investigation after online betting on the second-round contest was halted.
Davydenko quit in the third set with a foot injury. Online agency Betfair refused to pay out on the match, saying 3.4 million pounds, 10 times the norm for such a match, was bet upon the match, much of it against defending champion Davydenko as he was winning the first set, as if bettors knew he might not last to the finish.
Safin said it's not his problem: "The ATP can do whatever they want, I'm out of it. It's not my problem, that's for sure.
"I'm here more for myself than for the ATP. The ATP is full of people who get paid a lot of money, big bucks, and they're the ones who have to think, not me.
"I'm here to play my tennis, win some matches, and whatever happens happens. "I'm not going to make any comments. They have enough smart people to investigate and look for it, to do the right thing. I'm not the one to ask."

Marat's match against Soderling lasted about 7 minutes. They didn't really say what happened to Soderling, but he looked quite sick-ish to me. He trained hard too just before the match so maybe he had strained muscles. Anyway, it's great to see that Marat will face Rafa tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get to buy tickets tomorrow.

I can give you a short version of the WHOLE ( ;D) match, Lau, included the medical treatment of Robin!!!! Robin served as 1st, kept his game, then Marat served, Robin broke him, Robin served for 3-0, but Marat broke back to 2-1! They both walked to their benches back, and Robin said to the umpire that he wanted a medial treatment, so the ump asked him "on what?" Robin replied him "My left wrist" and then the umpire asked back "Did this just happened??" and Robin nodded to him. The ump called for a medical treatment on Robin's left wrist, and a few sec's later, after the docter looked at it, and talked to Robin, Robin told the ump that he couldn't go through with the match. He went over to Marat, and he was a bit for Robin as well! They shook hands (not with the left hand ) and maratik left the court!!!!!! The end Bit sad that I had livestream and got only to see Maratik for 3 games Hope I have better luck for his match against Rafa ;D !!!!!! Thanks sweetie for the whole version of the match LOL I´m actually not so sure if I want to watch the match tomorrow..... It can be like a scary movie, you want to see what´s happening but you don´t want to at the same time LMAO ;D ;D Marat's match against Soderling lasted about 7 minutes. They didn't really say what happened to Soderling, but he looked quite sick-ish to me. He trained hard too just before the match so maybe he had strained muscles. I guess frensje answered your question Safin snubs ATP betting probe Tue 07 Aug, 10:48 PM Smart IMHO, "No comments" it´s the way to go in this situation. About the ATP having "smart people" who have to do the "thinking"...., well,....uhmm... LOL

Safin will face second-seeded Spaniard Rafael Nadal for the first time in his career in the second round. "What do I have to lose?" Safin said. "I'm not going to tank the match, I'm going to try to win it, of course. But I'm definitely not expecting anything great out of it." www.canadaeast.com/sports/article/44904

wooo ... Marat & Rafa tomorrow night!! definitely be parked in front of the tv for that! I´m actually not so sure if I want to watch the match tomorrow..... It can be like a scary movie, you want to see what´s happening but you don´t want to at the same time LMAO ;D ;D yeah, i'm with you there ... want to be a good match, but hard to know what exactly is going to happen, which makes it scary "What do I have to lose?" Safin said. "I'm not going to tank the match, I'm going to try to win it, of course. But I'm definitely not expecting anything great out of it." kinda contradictory, yeah? hopefully things will be clicking right for a non-tanking match rest of today's results .... Blake d Melzer 75 76 Haas d Calleri 63 76 Murray d Ginepri 64 64 Karlovic d Miryni 46 63 76 Verdasco d Chela 36 61 63 Nieminen d Benneteau 63 64 Djokovic d Kiefer 63 63 Stepanek d Gonzalez 67 76 64 Baghdatis d Moya 76 61 Ancic d Niemeyer 64 62 Lleyton & Rafa won their doubles match too ... would be fun to see them play together & how they interact with each other ;D all CC matches tomorrow should be excellent .... as well as Blake/Hewitt on BN, Ferrer/Nalbandian on Court 9 ... Youzhny (v Wawrinka) and Davydenko (v Nieminen) are playing back-to-back on Court 5 (they're breaking out an additional court tomorrow )
