No play before 1:30 ... [at least -- doesn't look good though ...] ah, the rain -- comes with the territory of it being Wimby time .... paper headline shown on the beginning of the tv covergae: "According to the Daily Express it will be the worst rain for 50 years."today/tonight's weather courtesy of wimby's site: Today: Heavy rain at times in the north and west. Any bright or sunny intervals elsewhere will lead to scattered heavy showers developing, some with thunder and torrential downpours. Showers merging to longer spells of rain later, some heavy. Tonight: Rain, some heavy and prolonged, gradually clearing eastwards, all areas becoming dry by morning with some cloud breaks developing but becoming very windy. sure doesn't sound good at all

oh God! how much time will we still wait to see a roof on wimby! I gotta say actually that it's a real shame that at least all the GS tournaments don't have a roof except the AO! (and it almost never rains there!) so what a shame for London and Paris and NY! God bless Melbourne's people! and of course, DAVAI MARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'm listening to Wimbledon Radio.. they're saying that (looking at the weather/forcast) that play won't start until 14.00 pm BST.. so no good news..

What can I say? Other than I think I may have to get my toes amputated. It was bloody freezing - and I'm Scottish and used to it. Even in the rain, I've ended up with a red nose and forehead - I didn't think you needed suncream in these extremes. Day started off looking good. Sun came out in the morning ... and then the rain started. And stopped. And started. I met up with Dendy (everyone wish her a happy birthday!) It was bad enough for me, but at least it a) wasn't my birthday and b) I wasn't expecting to be sitting with Marat's team. Sympathy all round for Dendy who then had to go home to catch her train as the rain chucked down. She texted me to say Marat's match had been cancelled, but there seemed to be confusion all around me as to what was happening. After having stood rooted to the spot at the front row of the standing area for hours, out of stupidity I decided to stick out until the end of Serena's match. Outcome - I got to see only 2 matches all day: Martina Hingis and Serena Williams (she's looking good). Blue toes and no Marat. I haven't checked out the order of play yet, but I'll be back again tomorrow. Will post where I'm going if anyone wants to look out for me and gang up for the Big Yin's match - which I assume is on tomorrow. I'm hoping to catch a few of the Brits matches (what a match for Tim - 5-5 in the fifth. Fingers crossed. I'd cross mine, but I'm terrified they'll fall off). PS Apparently dry and sunny in Glasgow. But cold. What is going on with the weather?
