I didn't get to watch Marat at Wimbly up until now :-/But IMO if he plays at the same level he had played during the last two versions of Wimbledon, then I'm confident that he'l have a big, big chance to beat him I reckon that during 2005, there was more press releases on Marat than on Federer at the time :oHad he been able to maintain such form till the end he would surely have gone victorious. The results seem to be very much in the same league of the last 2 years, even if this time it was against lesser known opponents. Grass is tailor made for Safin and even if he doesn't admit it, it's the best surface for him to play on. So hopefully we're in for a big upset today

Message from maryb. After 4 hours of queuing in the returned tickets section - basically tickets that as people leave they hand them in and the tickets are resold for charity - she finally got a ticlket on centre court - not great row z but she is there. Now just hope serena hurries up - the dark cloud moves away and Marat gets on court. Go for it Mary What a dedicated Marat fan does to watch him!!

Although it was expected, am still sad............ In the 1st set, I was like : " WTF, Maratik, What RU doing??" Waited soooo freaking long for this match, you're now not gonna lose in only 1 hour! Thank god for my TV I wasn't watching this set in front of it, cause the TV wouldn't survive then ...... The second set was a little bit better... ... still not good, but okay In the 3rd set, there was a bit more believe in his game, bit more aggressive, more net approaches, some great shots..... And then, In the tiebreak, at 5-4, after netting the ball, I knew it was over

It was an expected win of Federer. I am not really sad about it, because Federer is the best grass player in the world. I would be really surprised if someone is going to beat him at Wimbledon. But I expected a little bit more of Marat. I was shocked about the first set, because it went so fast. The second and third set were better.
