well thats really really sad ... somebody tell me whats going on with him why havent he any confidenceeeeeeeeeeeee??? he begins to get scared when his partener wins any points then he loses concentration and begin to loose point and sees that there is no hopw any more , stop fighting for points and then loses the match !!! i swear his game isnt bad ... his fitness isnt bad either ... he just freaks out and i dont know or understand why yes marat doesnt need a coach .. he needs a psychiatrist ... somebody who knows how to prepare him psychologically for every situation in the match and give him his self confidence back ... and as he said in his interview he is getting older and there isnt much time left and his career and he should end up as a great player becasue he really is and he deserves that i am really really sad .. i wished he could go on in roland garros for some more time but what can we say

Q. Have you ever attended in a theater Hamlet? MARAT SAFIN: No. Q. The play Hamlet? MARAT SAFIN: No, no, no. Q. Because there is a lot of interesting monologues and he's asking himself to be or not to be. MARAT SAFIN: It's for me or; this question? Q. Could be, because I listen to many monologues of you today and it remind me of Hamlet. MARAT SAFIN: Well, I'm 27 years old, and I'm already downhill on my career. So it's not really a question to be or not to be. This kind of question will be at age of 22, without winning a Grand Slam, and being somewhere up close, but never actually achieve anything, like Rios, for example. That's a question for him.Buahahahah, evil Marat

the montonous story unfolds itself again.. Safin knocked out in the Second round again... his play today was totally uninspiring but his interview was certainly wth a silver lining. ( barring the HAMLET howler ) he stated that JUST WINNING 2ND ROUND MATCHES and THEN A SEMI FINAL ISNT MOTIVATING FOR ME...speaks that he realises wat his potential is...he is a born champion and he needs to be consistent.....bt again the herulean effort for him is his mental part of d game.... he needs to get a grip on his game... i do agree , he needs a coach - a full time coach who can atleast help his exercise a lil control over his mental faculties.. i mean he did wonders whn he hired Peter at the end of 2004 . he won Bercy and Aus open... it seems he doesnt take Sasha seriousl at all...like he said in nodr interview bout his earlier(cnt recall whch year) roland garros loss - I WAS LONELY....HAD NO COACH... He has temporarily cured his loniless bt he is nt doing justice to his game and talent. time is running out for him.. he has the game , the talent to win atleast two more majors.. just hope he wakes up really soon frm this " NO COACH" needed slumber of his..

I love the Hamlet part in this interview.. Although it's the most stupid question (I mean, it's Marat Safin.. c'mon please be a little bit creative although it was creative to make up such a stupid question!!!! but no one actually asked something about you know like What now and stuff like that...) his face was adorable and his voice when he said no and again No No No haha... he may have lost his confidence for a while, his humor and sexyness is still there!!
go on Marat:) You'll be there one day!

It's in second round only. I guess there will be another chance and I'll play better. The luck will be on my side. Big Yin, there's no more chances this year for the FO at least. YOU need to create your luck. No harm to Sasha sitting courtside for moral support, but is it working in terms of giving you a kick up the erse and saying get your act together and start thinking more positively out there? You need a coach. But unfortunately right now, I feel like something doesn't come together, and that's why it's a lot of sad losses for the past, from beginning of the year. You keep dwelling on the losses or the crap shots. Why don't you start thinking about the wins and the good shots? Why did they happen? What did YOU do to make it work?To be or not to be? Well, I'm 27 years old, and I'm already downhill on my career. (For f***'s sake Big Yin, get a grip! Why bother if that's your attitude? You need a good hard slap on the erse for that!) Get real.... And then I start to be a little bit scared and had a little bit of pressure. He started to play much better and he was feeling that I'm not playing my best tennis.Big Yin, there are FAR FAR worse things in the world that are REAL pressure. Take a step back and look at what you have ... and what you can still achieve. Get some perspective before it's too late. You are still a superb athlete (don't even start your moaning on this one. I'm Scottish. I'll outlast you there. I might be half the size and twice the width, but I can still thrash you on that.) Well, I don't know how many years you want me to play? Eh? Who gives a toss how many more years everyone wants you to play. How many years do YOU want to still play?Do you think maybe now, maybe Wimbledon could be almost the best place for you because you have such a big game?MARAT SAFIN: Well, I don't want to really put everything on all the pressure, because I have enough already on grass. Because also, I don't know what they gonna do with the seedings. They have own way of doing the seeding. So I don't know what's gonna happen there. Also I think I can play well there, and I will have good draw, I think I can manage. Eeek. Steady Big Yin, that was a bit of positivity there. Since when did you start thinking of grass as an opportunity (not that I'm complaining)?Last year I was close to beating Gonzalez, but I lost five sets. I don't feel anymore so uncomfortable like the years before. But looking right now in the situation that I am right now, I'm not really in the perfect conditions to make any big results. But maybe step by step, and if something gonna change on grass. Yip, signs of a positive outlook for grass. Well done.Someone needs to take the boy aside. I'll take over the mantle of coach for Wimbledon. ;D I'll soon sort him out. A bit of work on the footwork again and no more blinis for a month. You're grounded pal for this week.

From Tipsarevic's press conference: "Q. I read that you like to read some books about psychiatry. Do you want to be one to Marat, for example? NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Well, Marat is, in my opinion, maybe the most talented player in the world. I think for him ‑‑ this might sound a little bit harsh, but for him tennis is like a toy, because when it's interesting for him, no one in the world can beat him. But then when it's not interesting for him, he just doesn't, you know, show his talent or his tennis the way he can play, you know. So I mean, I know that Marat was not at his best today, and I'm really happy that I used that to the fullest, winning three sets to Love." He has summed it up perfectly!!!! And re Sasha, I think Marat needs a coach, not a friend. You know how it is a friend [or family member] can tell you something over and over and it's only when someone from outside says the same thing do you go 'wow that makes sense'. Anyway, my opinion only

Someone needs to take the boy aside.
Yeah! Definetly! A good talk won't harm him.. (I can do that btw, got a lot to tell him ) And avalon, i agree with you, what Marat needs is a real coach, someone who'll boss him around and tell him what to do instead of being the good friend giving advices.. But then again it's his life, if he's feeling comfortable with Sacha being with him ... *shrugs*

all i can say that was sooo painfull! i was in front of his bench and let me tell you that i saw smthg on his face that said that he was going to play it just becoz he had to! he really didn't show any confidence and looked like he knew what will happen even before playing! i'm too tired to say and post what i EXACTLY saw and lived! all i can say is that i rushed from school to porte d'auteuil to be at time for his match and came back to school straight after!i honestly think he needs smthg more in his life, some additional strenght and power to transcend him!it was painfull to see! i don't wanna post so i'm messing up here!
