Do you know the thing that pissed me off most? It's the small thing that made him lose his balance again...after he had that fall in the second set tie-break...the whole match went down the drain... First set was incredible. Impeccable tennis... tons of winners, little number of UEs, first serve was amazing, it was textbook tennis, something on the lines of what he played at DC a couple of weeks ago. He looked determined, focused and like nothing could go wrong at that point. (plus he looked absolutely gorgeous in his lime outfit, little bed hair curls and a bit of a tan and Lars Graf was umping...the stars aligned!!!! Yeah right ) Second set was tough. First serve was not as effective as it was in the previous set and Vliegen started getting breakpoints, which was worrying. Credit to Marat - he saved them all. Tie break started off brilliantly with a minibreak right away and before we knew it - it was 6/3 and we had three match points. What do we do? You are absolutely right, we lose three points in a row. At 9 all Vliegen does a drop shot, Marat runs for it and falls, scratches his fingers (something on the lines of his match against Roddick at AO). And there goes the second set Third set was a nightmare. I don't even wanna talk about it. He started agressively, broke right away but then the chip must have clicked and he was all over the place. Smashed a racket, mumbled and screamed, walked around the court shouting "I can't, I just can't play tennis" and tried to stick his racket out to just hit the ball over the net. It was ugly, painful and not worth watching. We all knew it was over half way through the third set. It was terrible. Marat for your own sake, I adore you man, and I WOULD LOVE to see you longer and winning but please please get some help...this is not normal. You need help... IT'S ALL STILL THERE! The technique, the feeling of the ball, the game...first set was a living proof of your class but your brain man..we need to do something about that... Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Sure there will be other tournament, problem is that he can't miss opportunities like that for ever ! I'd like to have a racket or two to break now after watching this.... I still can't believe he found a way to lose that one, i just can't believe it... He's so close to do great things and i was so happy at the iedea to see him vs Rafa... I know, I know... Can't believe it either, but hey... It's Marat, you know ...... And if I had a raquet and be near marat ATM....... Well, lets say.... It would be for Marat's best that I ain't around ! He played sooo F****** great in the first set..... Where did that go?

.... Maybe that's an idea for resetting his brains and put in a "today's first set mode" , for the rest of his tennis carreer!

scratches his fingers (something on the lines of his match against Roddick at AO). And there goes the second set Was a little scared there........ *Whispering in Marat's ear... Yes you can, babe... Just look at your first set.... Only thing... You'll have to keep that the WHOLE F***** match* You're soo right about it, Annie..... It was all there in the first set... And then it was gone.... WTF was in his mind after that?? I really hope he's gonna be able to find that out for himself AND find a solution for it too!!

Agree 200%... everything is in the brain and he needs help... You can't lose a match like that... You can't choke so big on those important points... He has experience, he has been through all of these situations so many times but today he was nearly paralysed, unable to keep his game together... He can't go on this way if he wants t climb the steps to the top... Problem is that it comes from nowhere : great tennis and then 3 MP and nothing anymore... I don't understand and i'm sure he didn't understand either...Isn't it Youzhny who is working with a mental coach ? I know it's hard to imagine Marat doing that but i'm sure it could help him to relax in those key points... Well, maybe ATP should let Tarpi come on the chair during Marat matches... ;D Okay, fingers crossed for next events : Marat, believe in you, you can do it !

Marat : you need a full time coach who won't let you suicide yourself on court like today... (maybe atp should do like wta and authorized on court coaching so Marat can receve a big hug and win)...
