Monte Carlo is a great tournament for Russians... NOT  Third seed Nikolay Davydenko is out. He lose his first match in Monte Carlo to the same guy he lost it to last year, Robin Soderling 4/6 7/6 3/6  Last Russian Standing - Igor Andreev. About to start his match against Gonzales  Gaston Gaudio is out too. Was defeated by Novak Djokovich 1/6 6/3 1/6 MC officially sux  |

I stayed awake for 24 hours to watch Marat play - I watched the match all the way through, in the early 0230AM to the bitter end, then could not sleep, then went to work....now THAT'S close to the edge.
I understand everyone's frustration and anger - that HURT like hell - if I hadn't seen it, i'd hardly believe it
The reality is, however, in my opinion, is that no coach/psychologist can make a diference to Marat -because he's MArat and that is how he is - if he, or anybody else, undestood what happens, then of course he would do something about it!!
But if you look at what Marat says, he seems to accept that there are games that he just BLOWS - listen to the interview from the radio in San Jose this year. He accepts that it's going to happen, which is why a psychologist would be useless - which is not to say he LIKES it - look at his face yesterday...
Sasha is a friend and a coach, and the VASTLY more important part of that job is FRIEND - because no coach is going to change Marat's game significanty - and what Marat needs now as much as anything is FRIENDS !
So, lets not give up on him, we just have to pick ourselves up off the floor, dust ourseleves off, and look forward - the first set proves he's still got it - lets just try and be glad about that!!
