I really wish Marat would give up with IW and Miami - these places are just not for him and for us!
It's really hard to not get mad at Marat but since Roger and Lleyton lost they're in no better position so that makes it a bit better.
UDACHI Marat in Miami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really have to say something...... Maybe it's off topic or something, but don't know where to post it otherwise.... Has any of you seen the posts from/ on his official website?? When i saw (almost all) those horrible comments on Marats lost, i really was like WTF?? WTF is happening there?? I was really ashamed to read all those harsh posts... even almost ashamed that I call myself a Marat fan.... Not because of Marat, never..... I will always support him, even if he's out of the top 500! Still and always my number one..... but I was ashamed of all those peoples posts, and they call themselfs fans?? Yeah, right.... only fans when he's winning! There were comments about that he should retire, now that there's still some dignity left, and that he is an idiot.......can't even win a match against a top 100 player like Mahut.... and many, many bad posts more...... and they were all so hard on him! (Not talking about the posts from members here.... ( , Alex and Happiness, and maybe othes that i forgot?) He doesn't deserve that! Right? Can't we do something about it? It's not like they are doing something about it, maybe others should care about and look after him! It's his Official Website for God's sake....... It's obviously really getting out of control there....... There must be something we can do..... Anyone having ideas? Like a petition or something..... Can we write a letter to his managment about it? I wanna do something..... hope you to! I'm sorry if it's off topic, but i had to write it off me.... all the anger, sadness and disbelief after reading it........ Glad we have the real fans here...... To all of you! Frensje

well, last year i used the "contact us" button of the official website and suggested to webby to simply suppress the official forum.
i thought there were plenty enough other forums in different languages, some accepting gf talk, some not, etc... and most of them way easier to read, with threads and themes and enough adminstrators to deal with it. i suggested webby to just keep the "contact us" thing, so we could ask her questions and send links/pics/reports... she would just have to read all her mail (quite enough, hey) and answer questions she found interesting or post links... no gf talk there, no rubbish haters either, no 1000000 "threads" so hard to follow. simple does the trick i thought
what do u think about it ? i know it's not allowed to criticate other websites here, but i thought it could be an easy improvement.

Frensje Hi sweetie First of all thanks for the imense patience you had last night with me I certainly wasn't in one of my nights and I suppose I really treated Marat very harshly ... But then I started to put myself in his position and realized how unfair I was with him (I tryed to reddem myself with a post on his official website) I'm still supporting him ... Only now it's on a different and completely new way: I don't expect anything from him on a tennis court other then having fun and enjoying what he does!!! ;D ;D About his official site I don't know what else we can do ... except wait and see if anything else changes! After all his management already knows about it and so far nothing has changed If I could I certainly would get out of here just to talk for a few minutes with Marat about it (If he had such time to spare ) ... But unfortunately I can't ... But maybe some of you who are gonna see him play life in the next future can do that!!! Take Care Happiness

About the posts in the OS I think we should ignore them. Webby is deleting them already so why should we give them more importance? Those ppl are just screaming for attention and actually they think they know more than Marat and his team... C'MON! Do you really think that the real fans need to even bother or waste time with them? Nah, they don't exist.

to those interested:
Scoring one-on-one interviews at a big event like Indian Wells is more of a challenge than it might seem. It’s a huge tournament, so it’s crawling with press from around the world demanding the players’ time. I’ve run all around the Tennis Garden stalking players and filling out interview request forms with the ATP and WTA to some success—and some disappointment.
On Friday, I was after Mardy Fish and Martina Hingis. For the interview with Fish, I had to talk my way into the players’ lounge for our 3 P.M. appointment. It was a couple of days before his first match, which is always the best time to talk to a player because they’re more relaxed and willing to talk. Fish gave me a good interview, talking about being back in the Top 25 and hanging out with the other American players. Later on, trying for some time with Hingis after her press conference, I was denied. “She doesn’t usually like to do the one-on-ones,” a WTA communications official told me.
Saturday I wanted to talk to Russian Mikhail Youzhny and Mr. Guns and Buns himself, Rafael Nadal. I knew Nadal was a stretch—big-name players are the toughest to interview at media havens like this. Nadal seemed to have too many press obligations already. If I were here longer I could’ve tried to guilt him into talking to me some other time. One reporter pointed at Nadal and gave him a look as he escaped his press conference: “Rafa! Tomorrow eh?” Maybe tomorrow will work for that guy, but I’ll be on a plane back to New York by then.
Youzhny was another story. He didn’t have a post-match presser. Apparently not many members of the press are interested in speaking with him. But I wanted to interview Youzhny because, as I told him when we sat down, he’s been playing well lately. He immediately responded, “Today? I no play well today!” His tirade lasted until he realized I didn’t want to talk about his loss to Jose Acasuso an hour before. It’s always a scary thing to interview a player after a bad loss, but Youzhny turned out to be a good guy. He answered my questions at length. I’ll have to go back to the recording to decipher some of his accented English.
Today the chase was on for another Russian—Marat Safin. Before I tried to talk to him, I asked Peter Bodo if the walkway from the practice court to the player lounge was an appropriate time to speak to a player. He told me it was fair game, so I went for it. I caught Safin just as he walked into the area where fans aren’t allowed. He had finished a practice session 10 minutes before and spent the intermittent time escaping a mob of screaming girls. Not the most optimal time to approach him, I admit. But you don’t get too many shots to interview Safin, so you have to go for it.
“Marat, can I ask you a question?” He looked down and first took notice of me with my reporter’s notebook. “What’s it like to be constantly traveling?”
He tilted his head to the side and grimaced like he does when he nets a backhand. “Why?” he asked, pained. (This to me is classic Safin: Why God? Why did this have to happen to me? I only asked him a question.) “Can I talk to you after your match, then?” I asked.
“Ask the ATP. If they say it’s all right, then…maybe,” he said walking away.
I went to the ATP and told them I just wanted to ask Safin one question, hoping they would go to bat for me. But they weren’t encouraging. Safin was down 0-5 in the third set of his match against Nicolas Mahut. After getting bageled, he wasn’t much up for talking.
Finally, right before I left, I succeeded with Nikolay Davydenko. Even though he had just won his match, the Russian still wasn't in a particularly good mood, informing me that he wasn't too impressed with Sam Querrey, the kid who had just come within two points of beating him a few minutes before.

Real fans stick with the guy no matter what happens.... and Marat isn't making it easy sometimes.
The "fans" that only love him when he's winning should stick to Fed.... oooops Fed lost too ;D
Being a fan is about being supportive wether the results are good or not. A real fan is always behind his guy but he's not blind. A real fan knows the qualities and flaw of the person he's supporting.
We all know here that Marat can be wonderful.... we also know that he can suck. That doesn't stop us from loving him.
I fell in love with Marat in 1998 when he played his first round match vs Agassi in RG.... I'm sticking to him till the day he retires wether it's tomorrow or in 3 years.

Just imagine if marat went onto his own site and saw all of the mallicious rantings posted his supposed "fans"....i'm sure that would make him superrrrrrr confident not only in himself but also the people supposed to be supporting him...it's too easy for people to say such awful things about the guy from behind a computer but i'm sure it would be alot different if they came face to face with him

Anyway I think that is exactly the problem... Because it's the OS I guess these weird ppl think he might go to the forum and therefore feel more hopefull he will read what they post (whether silly advice, or hate mail). I've noticed ppl who post in other forums all nice and polite, then go there and post hate messages when he loses (they don't even change the nick!). Also there's the obvious lack of a moderator/webmaster there and the format doesn't help either Ok, back to the IW theme Anyone knows who won yesterday? kisses
