are we going to have the kabala bracelet conversation in every tournament thread? Just for the record, people use red bracelets for many different reasons, and they don´t have to be related to kabbalah all of them Thanks The best luck Maratik sorry...I'll stop. All I know is that he may want to keep the evil eye off him...but that sure wont keep our eyes off him lol

sorry...I'll stop. All I know is that he may want to keep the evil eye off him...but that sure wont keep our eyes off him lol LOL True. Anyway, there´s no problem , but this already cleared up. Maybe I though it was somehow an overreaction because here (in Argentina) some people wear (used to be more often a couple of years ago) red bracelets and it has nothing to do with the kabbalah. BTW, he used a red bracelet years ago and no one said anything in particular about it.

From 'The Desert Sun' ;D 5 story lines from the men’s drawLeighton Ginn The Desert Sun March 9, 2007 1.Can anyone beat Federer? No one has dominated the men's tour like Roger Federer has, and it doesn't look like there's anyone who can challenge him. Andy Murray is the last guy to beat Federer, who enters with a 41-match winning streak. Other possible suspects are Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, Marat Safin, James Blake and Fernando Gonzalez. If no one can beat Federer, he will break the 30-year-old record of 46 consecutive victories by Guillermo Vilas. 2.Has Roddick improved enough? Andy Roddick has regained his spot among the top five players in the world after some down times last year. But being an American, Roddick will be judged by major titles, and for him to win, he has to find a way to beat Federer. Roddick has improved greatly since hiring Jimmy Connors as his coach. But the standard for Roddick will always be 2003, when he won the U.S. Open and rose to No. 1. Roddick isn't there yet. 3.Is Marat motivated?
The one player with the tools to beat Roger Federer is Marat Safin. The big Russian is as complete a player as there is out there, whose weapons can give Federer problems. However, Safin is not always there mentally, which might explain why his promising career has turned spotty. And he hasn't done well here. But if Safin is motivated here, look out.4.What's up with Nadal? A year ago, Nadal had defeated Federer on the hard courts of Dubai and reached the semifinals here. However, the world's No. 2 appears mortal this year with a 9-4 record and no titles since the French Open. Nadal needs to start turning it on with the French Open on the horizon. 5.Can Blake validate his ranking? James Blake comes into the tournament ranked No. 6 in the world, but he still has no titles in a Masters Series or Grand Slam. His best showing in a big tournament was here last year, beating Nadal in the semifinal before falling to Federer. A title would help give Blake's ranking some validation, and he has a good history in the desert. www.thedesertsun.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070309/EVENTS10/703090335/1120/events10

From Roddick's conference: Q. You played a pretty good match against Safin; right? (AO 07) ANDY RODDICK: Yeah. Q. Is that something to be proud? Do you remember that match pretty well?ANDY RODDICK: Yeah, it was fun. I played well the whole tournament, to be honest. I just ran into a -- I just ran into a guy who played better than me that day. I mean, he played great. He outplayed me. Q. Okay. But you said the word "fun" and that's what I was going to ask. Every time Safin comes on court, the fans know they are in for a fun match. What's the first thought that goes through a player's mind when they go through to see Safin in the next match, is it going to be fun, how do you react when you're about to play him?ANDY RODDICK: Well, I mean, I don't know if you're, like, put on my fun face. But I think -- I don't know if players are as interested in watching him when you're playing against them as the fans are. I think you realize, you know -- I think we all have fun watching him play, but when you're on the court, you're more concerned with what he's bringing to the table, you know, between the lines and on the tennis court, which is not something you can overlook, you know. I don't know if we're concerned with having -- with him having a great time if we're going up against him. You know, I think our priorities lie more in what's going on with the match. Q. Is it easier to beat him, get into his head when he starts losing it?ANDY RODDICK: I think it's easier to beat anybody if you get inside their head and they start losing it. www.asapsports.com/show_interview.php?id=41635Blake's conference: Q. Safin came up pretty strongly against mandating the Master Series (indiscernible). Just your thoughts on that, whether you think that maybe the top five guys should be required to play five or six (indiscernible). You can't ask all the guys to play because it's impossible?JAMES BLAKE: We're going to talk a lot about that in Miami. We'll see how strongly I come out with or against Safin on that one. I tend to agree with Safin a lot. He tends to be a little more vocal, but he tends to know what he's talking about. He sometimes, like I said, says it a little louder than the rest of us, but I have a lot of respect for him, and he's usually right. But to make us play eight out of eight is going to be a very tough ask, especially all over the world, possibly over in Asia. And the biggest problem I think is going to be the suspensions are going to be there if we don't. That's just something that seems like it's going to be really harsh. We'll have to talk about it in Miami. And it's still our tour; we're the players; we need to make decisions that are going to benefit us, you know. We need sponsors, we need that, but I think most importantly you need players, otherwise you don't have a tour. So if we're unhappy, it's going to be a problem. So we need to make sure that we find possibly a middle ground, compromise, or whatever, and make sure that the players are still happy. www.asapsports.com/show_interview.php?id=41636

Q. Who are those few players that you think can give him problems? TOMMY HAAS: Well, you know, I think obviously Rafael Nadal has been giving him troubles over the past few years, you know. He hasn't been able to play him lately because he's been losing to other tough players, you know, before they would meet up in the finals. You know, Andy Murray is the guy that's beaten him before, who I think has a pretty good game to be dangerous for Roger. Marat Safin, if he's on fire, puts his head in there, he's got a big powerful game to give him some trouble. You know, I think I'm one of the contenders that can give him some trouble and has a chance beating him. So, you know, there's always some dangerous floaters out there, like we know in tennis. It's really tough how many good players are out there, so anybody on a good day that just keeps his head together and can convert on the big points, which is obviously the toughest thing I think to do against Roger, then, you know, you would have a shot. But in order to get that, you're going to have to play on a pretty high level
Seems the interviewers on keen on seeing Marat this year

Well, I am not sure about their schedule and if they will be showing all the matches or not. But on this site you can get a link to livestream from Indian Wells. You need to download PPStream in order for it to work. www.myp2p.eu/Other.htmScroll down to where it says Indian Wells Mens Tennis and click Play under PPStream (once you have it installed obviously) Hopefully they will be showing Marat's matches. Marat playing third on court 3 Dunno if livestream will be covering that court. But we can always pray.
