hi everyone. hope you guys still remember me. i miss this place. i haven't really had time to go on the computer much anymore. but i went to the tennis channel open last night with courtside tickets...i was really really close to him... :] . and i gotta say, marat gave me a scare...he almost lost but pulled through...the crowd was really into the match, and at points got very rowdy ...in the beginning, everyone was for marat, and then suddenly everyone was for igor, except for me of course..hehe..but it was a great match....igor was amazing...he looked great out there..it was pretty cold and has been really cold here in vegas for about a week....but it was worth freezing myself for... it was actually the first time i've seen marat and met him in person....such a sweet guy...he stopped for everyone who waited for him to get an autograph or a picture...it was pretty late too...it was about a little past 10 pm pacific time.....i'll post pictures and vids ASAP...i'll keep updating for the rest of the weekend...i'm going to be at the tournament everyday for the next three days..
<3333
hope everyone's doing good.

Nasty trick the ATP pulled out to Korolev then .... But good that Marat and Lleyton stand up for it.... It's really strange the ATP is changing rules..... and only for James Blake My mind is a little mess right now, don't understand the ATP's descission at all.........

Is it possible that ATP did it since the tournament is in USA, so they're trying to keep US player w/ big profile like James to attract more audience? In any case, tho', i think there's no excuse for them to do that. When this whole round robin rules haven't been in place, there seemed to be no problem, and it was normal for top ranked player to lose early in a tourney. it's not fair. If james is a real gentleman, i reckon he should reject that offer.
thanks for the pics. Man, Marat looks dashing in white

Ok, Bia, that is one great piece of report! :-*Sorry you had to go through all that by yourself! Secondly, I DO need to express my outrage for what they did with Korolev! I can see no logical explanation about changing the rules all of the sudden but money...and people with money! And sport shouldn't be like that! Marat was too kind with ATP criticism, they deserve much more!

First things first: Bia honey, looooooved your report . I was sound asleep while all of that was happening, but after reading what you wrote I totally feel like I was watching. THANKS a milion for sharing the passion Secondly: What ATP did to Korolev has no excuse. I have nothing against James and wil always cheer for him in any tournament, but rules are rules and if you loose you're out. You don't change rules in the middle of tournaments just to please the home fans! I mean fans are not stupid! Everybody who loves tennis (and any other sport for that matter) wants their heros to win on merit, not on paper. It's even humiliating for James to advance in this way I think, not to think of how unfair the situation is to Zhenya. My hat's off to Marat and Hewitt for speaking up.

It´s not my intention to start a war, but a week ago JCF was the one who said he would never accept to advance that way. Obviously, I don´t think Blake is the only one guilty of this, but he has been supporting the RR for a long time and is a member of the players board that accepted RR. It would be a little embarrassing if he says now that he didn´t know the rules. Changing the rules once the tournament started just to benefit a player is unfair, ridiculous and an scandal for the sport. That´s all I´m going to say about this... Anyway... There´s an online petition to get rid of Round Robin. If you agree with the author, please sign. Participation is the only way to change most things we don´t like or think are unfair. www.petitiononline.com/nomorerr/petition.htmlHere are the ATP postal addresses and telephones if you want to let them know your opinion about this by postal mail or phone ATP Americas 201 ATP Boulevard Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 USA Tel.: +1-904-285-8000 Fax: +1-904-285-5966 ATP Europe Monte-Carlo Sun 74 Boulevard d'Italie 98000 Monaco Tel.: +377-97-97-04-04 Fax: +377-97-97-04-00 ATP International Group PO Box N662 Sydney NSW 1220 Australia Tel.: +61-2-92502300 Fax: +61-2-92502333 ATP Executive Offices IG House Palliser Road London, W14 9EB United Kingdom Tel.: +44-20-7381-7890 Fax: +44-20-7381-7895 EDIT: oh! I´m delighted Marat managed to win his matches too LOL ;D ;D ;D ;D
