Well done big yin.  That first set was ruthless ... but brill to watch. (Well ... not if you're on the other side of the net). First serve was pretty smooth - and you still kept the heid in the tiebreak. Cool. Yip, a new mature Marat Safin standing before me. Well done, keep it up.  PS Keep working on the serve and volley - it's coming in handy these days. You'll need it for Wimbles. Time to start preparing ... I have a lot of money to recoup. |

Yes, I'm so thrilled he won! I'll try to catch the rerun tonight on The Tennis Channel, but as luck would have it, that's the only channel out of my whole lineup that is always messed up.
Geez, this whole "winning in the even years" thing that ATP is making a big deal out of...don't jinx him!
Good luck to him tomorrow against Soderling!

Everyone wonders what Marat and Mahut talked about near the net in the end? ;D ;D ;D According to the russian forum, there is an article in L'equipe. In the locker room Marat said to Mahut "Let me beat you and I promise you one week vacation in Moscow".
So after the match at the net Mahut asked "What about the vacation?" Marats answer" We'll do it....anytime! Everything for you!" (not sure what Mahut asked, but I just saw a replay of the tiebreak and that's the exact words Marat said LMAO ).

Marat gave Mahut a lesson of perfect tennis! ;D ;D ;D In the first game of the second set Marat made a couple of errors, which gave Magut confidence and he started to play better. Anyway, Marat won!
