The very first words from me should be : God (or whoever else) bless the rain!! I was under the impression that there was a drought going on in Oz but lo and behold right when he's two points from losing it, looking like he couldn't care less anymore....those drops of hydrogen and oxygen start fallin... The second thing i should say at this point,,,is ABOUT DAMN TIME ESPN!!! They finally bothered to show Marat just as he was serving to stay in the match. So back to the divine intervention...I mean it was clearly an omen and Marat took it as such. He used the time to clear his mind and the body language was totally different after wards. Two aces to take it to the tie break, lots of fist pumping and just generally showing how much he wanted this. Me, meanwhile I was dying...my hands were shaking and I was spinning around in 360 degree circles after every winner. The fifth set was storybook. He started to get cutesy with the shots. Gorgeous backhand volley on one of the bp's I think it was. He has an amazing career record in five sets, which we knew but still 25-11. Not bad at all. So he's happy. I'm happy. I'm also wide awake now from all the adrenaline. Which is just as well seeing as I have to go to class in an hour and a half. Against Andy, for sure he's going to have to play better tennis. But we all know he is capable of that. And mentally Marat is exactly where he needs to be. He's not giving in, despite numerous occasions to do so and there is a lot to be said for that. I am proud of him. But that doesn't mean I won't bring out the lawnmower Mr. Safin if you keep scaring the crap out of me like this. Have pity on a poor Lollipop's nerves.

Did marat cream sela in the 5th or what....thank GAWD for that rain..
I remember Marat at a quote which went something like this "I was praying for the rain and then God gave it to me" from one of the USOs...*phew*

Did marat cream sela in the 5th or what... No he didn't... that Sela kid is just not fit enough for 5 sets With a game like that - expect Andy to wipe the court with you Marat. So please go and do some serious thinking before Friday.

With a game like that - expect Andy to wipe the court with you Marat. So please go and do some serious thinking before Friday. Marat seemed to be having some problems moving..he wasnt moving quick enough, really, especially for his forehands..let's hope thats just a blip. 2 five setters and its only the 2nd round!

Hi everyone I still am in state of shock ... After went to bed at 2:00 am just to see the Live Scores of Dinara (who seriously gave me troubles in the first set ) ... I woke up at 5:00 am to record Marat's game on Eurosport ... Still barely openning my eyes (I really am not used to these long nights, especially after such a long and hard day like yesterday LOL) ... Heading back to bed ... Having nightmares with Marat loosing his game ... Waking up feeling miserable ... Onlly to find that my dream was about to become true ... Desparing in front of the TV ... Getting anxious every minute that passed by ... But somehow a miracle happened ... Thank God answered my prayers ... And how did I prayed ... I barely manage to be awake ... But it's worth it ... MARAT WON!!! ;D Take Care Happiness

All I can say right now is thank God for sending the rain! The match turned around from that moment on. I believe Sela deserves our congratulations for the enthusiasm he had today. I had never heard of him before, but he made a good impression on me. However, I think Marat complicated his own life again!!! Next is Andy and what a match that will be! Hope Maratik recovers physically from the 2 five setters he's played and is in his best form on Friday. Please Marat, please concentrate better and find your game!
