Great news :)As of R3 in Madrid Marat has advanced 16 places in the ranking to 49 in the world, he's now in the quarter-finals so expect more improvement in the rankings.

Rankings are only released once a week on Mondays.  |

yeahh!! first qf in ams this year! i am so proud of him for the way he played! i wasn t worried at all while i was watching the tv coverage he looked so mighty impressive and made nearly all the shots he wanted: back of the court play was perfect, advacing to the net with pretty volleys, he even played such a nice driving volley which shows that he is full of confidence! but what is most important ist that he played at his best on the crucial points and got the break a couple of times by pulling of a superb passing shot! in my opinion he will play against henman tmrw, except if nalbandian shows a major rise of form today, cos tim has been playing pretty well this week! but marat has a nice opportunity to advance to the sf and play very probably against roger! legato: u are right, now he has 765+125=890 points so he is right now around 37 in the world, if he wins and goes to the sf he has 990 points and is around 29 in the world (depending on how soderling performs for example), and would come very close to acomplishing his objective of being seeded for AO 2007! if he wins the tournament he would be close to cracking top 20! but the way he is playing everything is possible! DAVAIII MARAT!!! he is definetly back, i am looking forward to ams paris, davis cup final and especially AO 2007!! |

Thanks Davis ;)And sorry for my mistake ::)On a side note Peter seem to have left Marat for sure, as his contract was to expire in September now were in approaching November, and there are rumors that he may coach Great Britain's Davis cup team. It's ironic but seems that whenever peter leaves's a player after coaching him the players instantly goes stratospheric, Federer in 2003 and now Marat 8-)How unlucky Peter must be not to savour his great work   |
