Excellent match from Safin. He served well and stayed focus. Baghdatis DF 3 times in the last game. Other than that, he had a strong service game, but didn't convert on crucial points.

Victory !!!!!!!!!! He plays great and solid, finally agressive and searching for winners ! And his volleys were just so much inspired! What a relief to see him dominating the points and not running meters and meters far behind his baseline ! That is Marat's style no way !!!!!!!!! He's playing better and better and now he's really close to his best level ! Hope he can keep it up, seems amazingly focused and motivated anyway. Now is coming Vliegen who beat Blake today, won't be an easy one ... But Marat has some other asses to kick in Madrid it seems

;D ;D ;D ;D I am very happy right now. Marat played a very good match. Even better than yesterday and certainly more consistant. Neither player made too many mistakes so it was quite a spectacular match. Marcos lost it in that last service game with tons of double faults. But basically Marat was just playing to well for him. No stress. No worries. No problem. Bring on the belgian. Marat playing this way can take anyone. ;D ;D Well done Marat

this win will make me put even more things in the post i'm going to send soon in the thread about the things that made our day ;D ! i miss this kind of reactions sometimes! i think that the moment above, together with that moment at the us open, when he played haas-when he crouched with the fist pump after one point, shows how determinated and hungry for success he is right now !i hope he'll manage to do whatever he has on his mind! for my favourite person that i don't know!
