fist of all i had a lot of mixed feelings after yesterdays match! i sreamed because i was angray that it was over, i believed that marat could win the last point to make it 6 all! another tournament, another missed opportunity and another could have been could have done!

but whats really been good about this week is that he beat misha quite easyly, who is way better on hard then melzer. but you have to look at it that way, even if marat is marat and should beat melzer if he is anywhere near his standard game, but melzer is in high confidence right now having won his first career title, and he beat marat once before, so he went very motivated into this encounter really believing in his chance!

what to say about marat, he beat a superb player in r1, and i dont know what he expected and how he approached the match, you never know with him but he seemed to be playing good in the first set especially! i also have to say that i am very proud of him that he fought and hung in there, i mean no one mentoned it but at 5:4 melzer marat was serving and it was 0:40, three mp and marat saved them and got back to 5:5 all, so i would not say that he played all the big points that bad! then again a tie-break can always go either way, even if marat has more experience and a bigger serve, he even got a mini break right at the start, but melzer was just too confident i guess!

so today i thaught a bit about this match, and the beautiful thing in tennis is that u dont have to wait long to get your next chance, so good luck in russia and i am sure that he is going to do well in front of his home crowd and hopefully play the way he did againt roddick in dc! marat fans are used to bad losses, but this was a winnable match, but he did not just loose to some guy like he did once this year against a guy ranked 500 something from south africa! so i am happy already that marat is healthy, playing one tounament after another, slowly getting back his game even though he still has ups and downs, but on a much higher level then at the beginning of his come back!

sorry if i wrote to much, but i had a lot to share and i hope you dont get bored reading it, but this forum is there to express such thoughts about the best tennis player, isnt it? ! this is really a great community and you guys are all really nice, i am definetly happy that i joined the club!

Jeez. My internet access goes down and I come back to this. Cool it guys - too much emotion late at night going on there I think. Kiss and make up - you all want the boy to win and get upset when he doesn't. It's only natural. Trust the oldie. Take a breath and step back before you commit to paper, electronic or otherwise. It's never wise to do it in anger, or frustration.

If anyone is feeling pissed off, it'll be the boy himself. Didn't see the match, but he obviously missed his chances, and I don't doubt he doesn't need reminding. Can't be easy going out there week in week out and winning.

I don't think he's done too badly in the last month. Hasn't he clawed back about 40+ ranking places? And he'll do better in the near future I'm sure.

Moscow next? When's the draw?
