OK...I need to get this off my chest so bear with me.
Yesterday was like the worse day ever tennis wise. Dina lost, Marat lost, Rafa lost. Francebeat Italy. The day just kept getting worse. I was so depressed I even had nightmares about it.
This morning I'm thinking...Murphy's law...everything than can go wrong is going wrong.
But then I realized that little things can make a difference. Whenever you're upset doing something for someone else, even if it's miniscule...giving lost tourists directions, playing hide and seek with a little girl in the street, helping new students settle in..it can help, not just them but you.
And then of course, the only antidote to Marat is Marat. Reading the interview was good. He still to be taking it in as logical a manner as posisble.
He knows that the tennis is there, his head is on straight and this was just a little bit of bad luck. In a lot of sports there is always talk of things balancing themselves out.
Possibly the little bit of luck that was missing yesterday will be what gives him the edge in Davis Cup to make magic happen. I hope that will be the case. And btw i loved how he talks about Dinara...Dinara give me advice? Never happen. hehe
And Rafa...now Mischa played brilliant tennis I admit that...but damn...couldn't he have done it to someone else? Mr Smurf for example??
I have to say though I wasn't overly surprised. When I started watching the match, Rafa was already a set down and I was in a very fatalistic mood.
A least Mischa will be walking on air during Davis Cup. The Americans are probably shaking in their shoes.
All I want is for Kolya to be Tommy...(Sorry Sabz, you will have to put up with my bloodthirsty barbs for a bit longer...but you know i love ya. ) after that I don't give a damn.
Bring on Davis Cup, bring on Madrid, and esp Paris. Marat loves Bercy and he wins it every two years. Last time was 2004. You do the math. ;D
