Looks like a pretty decent draw for Marat, provided that Nalbandian stays out of form as seen during the Master Series Events... He has some tough potential opponents that he doesn't particularly like to play (Olivier Rochus, Tommy Haas, the in-form Fernando Gonzales) but all the real big names and apparent favorites like Federer, Roddick, Nadal, Blake or Hewitt (even Andre Agassi) aren't in sight before the Semis. With a bit of discipline, at least the Quarterfinals should be realistic (and having said that, it probably won't happen, but I'm trying to stay positive : . There, I would like to see Safin-Murray, even though all Kolya-fans will object to that...

Heya everyone, I'm back !! Looks like it was not such a beautiful summer for our beloved Marat... until now ! I hope he'll do well in the USO. Right now I just hope he'll beat Vik: let's hope match after match, to put less pressure on him (ok I know he'll certainly never read this topic, but it's mental... )

I'm with you davis, lets hope whatever has been bothering Nalbandian is still bothering him [no offence to Nalbandian fans]. Once our Marat gets thru that game, with confidence, I think he wouldn't have any trouble knocking out any of the others. Well that's my hope [and I will be saying soooooo many prays to whoever will listen..... God, Buddha, Krishna.................to make it turn out that way ;D ;D ;D]

Totally agree davis. The draw is one of the most decent draws possible. Nalby has been playing complete and utter crap lately even though he gets into form as quickly as he snaps out of it and he is always dangerous, be he is just the player Marat needs to beat to build up that confidence. I totally object to Murray-Marat though being a true Kolya fan, and even though Kolya-Marat is always a heartbreaker for me, I am voting for it this time. Kolya needs all the points he can get to be able to go to Shanghai and I am really hoping he does well here ;D God heard us Marat, now it's your turn ;D ;D ;D UDACHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Madou sweetie, welcome back

The draw is bearable, according to what it could have been! It's a chance for Marat to find his game again, and I have a good felling about it. UDACI Maratik. You can do it, we all know you can! ;D ;D ;D

I have one little question: Why does everybody hate Nicolas Almagro? Has he done something which I haven't heard about?

I have one little question: Why does everybody hate Nicolas Almagro? Has he done something which I haven't heard about? Good to see you handsome!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Well I was totally indifferent to Almagro before, his game never did anything to me and neither did he, I kinda thought he was ignorant sometimes but couldn't be bothered with him ever. Until this year's Valencia semifinal against Marat. After that match I despise him That on-court behaviour should not be tolerated, with an attitude like that he can stuff it If you get a chance, download that match and watch it - he'll drive you insane

So, the draw is not too bad, like most of you have said, it is the most decent draw Marat has had in a while!! Potential Nalbandian in the 2nd, but Marat always somehow performs against the seeds. so i wish him the best of luck UDACHI MARAT!!! ;D I would like to see Safin-Murray, even though all Kolya-fans will object to that... I second that!!

I have one little question: Why does everybody hate Nicolas Almagro? Has he done something which I haven't heard about? Oh yeah and the fact he refused to claim that Roger Federer has a good game! yes the Roger Federer. Almagro is a prat!!!!! US OPEN Okay to be honest without pushing it this is the best draw Marat could have by far - lets not overlook Robin Vik - Marat still has to beat him but should easily. They have never played each other before! As you guys have said Nalby is nowhere near his best and if you look at H2H Marat has beaten everytime on hardcourt and lost only 1 time to Nalby at RG and dare i look ahead a possible clash with friend and foe Olly Rochus - enough said for now UDACHI MARAT!!!!!!!!!1 As for the Russians here - for once in a long time they have 6 player in the main draw but 2 have to play each other Another Russian may be joining them via Qualifiying - Anna K Cousin Evgeny Korolev 1st Rd Evgeny Korolev RUS(12)bt Marin CilicCRO 7-6 6-1 2nd Rd Evgeny Korolev RUS(12) bt Filip Prpic SWE 6-3 7-5 He will play Robert Kendrick USA (31) in the 3rd RD and the winner will enter the main draw!
