Okay, congrats to Marat for winning and sorry, I can't stay for too long, but tomorrow I'll write a few lines about the match (I've seen most of it on TV...... haven't seen the last 6 games though) and how it went! He's no where near playing well, because he has no returning (tie breaks in every match) and he's broken way to often. He's not playing aggressive, and hence the ugly wins and even uglier losses. Painful. Another bad performance by Marat. Vass, have U seen the match live? If not, please don't say things like that, okay? ..... I'll explain myself tomorrow.... Stay positive, people!!

;D Yeah!! He won!!! ;D
I saw the whole match, it was really great, although he had some problems with a call, and he was right about it... The explanation that the umpire gave him was laaame!! But anyway, I think that he did it ok, and it shows that he's more mature and can endure with a situation that, in the past, would have taken all his strenght. And he didn't break a single racquet!!
Davai Maratus!!
PS: He looks soooooo gorgeous... Or is it because I hadn't seen him in a long time?

Hi ho! I got home for the 2nd set! And to everyone who couldn't see, esp to Vass - Marat wasn' t that bad! He was passive at the beg of the 2nd set but he got his a*** together in the end. He lost the TB of the 2nd on 2 stupid points he should of won but yeah, that's Marat and that's why I am a fan of his!! Peter and Walt were there. Peter was applauding in the end. So it was no steamrolling but he won and everyone is happy!!!!!! Some stats - 1st serve % 52 (Feli 58%), aces - 17 (Feli 16), UEs 26 to 39, so not that bad! The most important - he kept his cool! BTW, he got angry at Feli's serve that was called in but actually was out and argued a bit with Graff and people whistled really loud, and once in the 3rd set he got ripped of another ace and people whistled again, lol!! How can they whistle to Marat! Just kidding! If he was my kid I would definitely spoil him! OK, his 1st win over Feli, Koubek next! DAVAI MARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am soooooooooooooo happy cant begin to describe how happy I am........ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I would never have gotten thru this match without the team on the TB........
Neo you were great thanks for the reports. The last 6 games must have been wonderful, so sorry you missed these. Lau said he was still angry at the end, I think too she meant he was angry with himself, I guess he was upset he did not win the tie break and had to go to a third set, WOW 6-3.......hehheh Lopez suck that up and choke, yes choke!
and YES I will let you respond to Vass, cause if he never actually saw the match I don't see how he can say what he is saying??
Anuschka
Anuschka that's what the others looking at the match said.
No wonder Marat was so angry
From the reports I think he did ok too, and YES it does show he's more mature and can that he can endure a negative situation
Heheheheh

WHOO-HOO!!!!! I was only online briefly during the second set and thought 'ack..it's gonna be close..' I wasn't expecting a 6-3 in the third Wish I could have seen it on TV!! Looks like the score is telling a different story to the actual match. Thanks to Neo and Maria and Anushcka for giving us the real deal It's much appreciated ;D Sounds like Marat was just warming up to start with and by the end of the match, had found his rhythm? Also saw a lot of people on the TB don't like F-Lo... guess he's become a bit of a diva like his namesake, eh? I'm not a particular fan of his anyway so WELL DONE MARAT!!!! I had a horrible feeling Marat might choke this match.... I hope winning it means he's found his game. Please don't let this be a false victory! It would be pretty bad to win this and lose the next... OK, I'll stop talking like a jinx and send some good vibes out to Marat ++++++++++++++++++++++++ C'mon Marat, there's a ticket to Houston with your name on it

Sorry Neo, I didn't se the match. But can you claim that he's been playing on full offensive? A lot of people say the opposite and I trust them. And I wasn't talking specifically aboutthis match. He's been playing like that for some time now. Hence, all the close matches. His stats almost always look close to his oppoenent's, which shouldn't happen. In this match lopez had a lot unforced errors and it's still a very close match....

Hi Ruth! Yep, losing to Koubek would be a disgrace (one of my fave words, lol)! So please don't jinx!! I hope I can see the whole match tomorrow! Vass>>> Yes, he was passive, not blazing hot Marat we all would love to see all the time but let's face it - it's not possible all the time, but like Ruth said I hope it's a good start and that he's been working on some things with Peter hence the passivity and close matches. So hopefully he will get better with every match deeper into the tourney (like Fed). A snippet - Shamil T. said in an interview to Soviet Sport-paper that he is content with Marat and Marat trained very well before Kremlin Cup, vs Stepanek he just wanted to play too beautifully and wasted points, games he should have taken. Shamil T.'s words. Only Shamil T. doesn't take it so dramatically like you Vass, and sees that beautiful is not always effective.
