Little goodies from the Official website: The last of the big names arrived in Bangkok yesterday including American world #9 James Blake and former world #1 Marat Safin who arrived together from Moscow. How cute to imagine them sitting next to each other, resting their heads on each other's shoulders, maybe drooling a bit in their sleep... ;DAmerican heartthrob Robby Ginepri will also take on Dane Kenneth Carlsen in the second match of the day. Heartthrob? Really? Is that common knowledge? What qualifies him for that rather prestigious category?  One shouldn't feel good about other people's bad luck but I'm not too unhappy about Marcos' withdrawal. First, the draw is wide open for Marat now (semifinal against Blake, anyone?) and second my No. 2 favorite "Bambi" Ancic (thanks for that nickname, Annie  !) will gain precious ground in the champion's race with Baghdatis out of the picture. He's playing impressive tennis in Bombay this week. Vamos Mario! |

nw davis....!!!!!! ancic is a real sweetheart in person as welll.... a friend of mine is studyin in mumbai and bumped <...yeah..crazy female doesnt watch tennis..>into him..... tuk her a while <..lol..nopes sumone told her that it was ancic..> to figure who he was.... " he is one towering figure"- she said...also mentioned he was very very sweet n was generous wth autographs..... yeah..n he has sum husky voice....!!!!!!!!!  |

Today, I was there 15 feet away from Marat chair. But my camera is so poor. This is the best I can get. spaces.msn.com/members/nirameaw/ After the match, many people ran to him, poor marat, he almost got flat by the fans. The others 3 players were left behind. (Even Lopez.) I just realize how popular Marat is, here in Thailand. I have a short clip of one of his serve, will try to upload tomorrow. Very tired now...zzzzzzz |

...I just realize how popular Marat is, here in Thailand. He's popular all around the world! I wish he could come to South America  I was watching Sportscenter last night and they were talking about the release of the Telmex Cup in Argentina and one of the men in charge of the event said that they called Safin to invite him, but Marat said no because in February he goes to the US.  |
