Concerning Dima's match, actually he played great with incredible shots sometimes in the first and third sets. He was like kind of tired in the second and let it go... But in the third he broke early and Haas turned mad, don't know why... He was arguing with the umpire for nothing, took a point penalty after two warning, to say it quick : he completely lost his head...

I was watching Gonzalez vs. Ljubicic match on ESPN and the commentators talked about an interview that some journalist from Canada did to Marat and he asked: -"Why don't you retire?" And Marat answered: -"The fact that I'm not getting such great results right now doesn't mean necessarily that I'm gonna quit tennis. I'm not thinking in retirement. Right now tennis is wide open and players in top 50 can be easily into the top 10 so I'm not worry about that. Besides, tennis has given me so much and I still have more things to achieve". THAT'S THE ATTITUDE!

That's so rude asking a player to retire! What was the context?

Hey Varia! We've not "met" before so welcome to TGFR! And we may have spoken to soon casue Dima is giving Fed a run for his money now. He won the second set and looking to put the third back on serve with a break. Could be tighter that we though. But if Fed does win then you're right..the interest dwindles to less than zero
Hopefully Cinncy will be better.

Dima was doing so well and Roger was getting so pissed off and swearing - out loud [this I like to see]. Dima won the second 7-5 and I was like 'Yeah' now we have a match and maybe a huge upset. Roger must believe in the old saying 'don't get mad, get even' and comes back to win the match 0-6!! I couldn't believe it

The Toronto quarterfinals display a shortage of popular names but calling the tournament uninteresting seems a bit unfair to me. Sure, Roger’s advance to the semis will be a given (nobody would seriously expect Malisse to pull off a surprise) but all other matches promise pretty good tennis: Gonzalez is the favorite vs. Acasuso but Chucho has played a lot of good tournaments lately, so maybe he’s in for a surprise. Also, Gonzalez had to put up a huge fight against Ivan yesterday, maybe he’ll be worn out today. Still, Gonzo would be a bigger stepping stone for Roger in the semis than the Argentine so while my heart beats for Jose, my mind supports the guy I love to hate Nieminen should be a favorite against Andy Murray ranking-wise but cocky Andy is boosting with self-confidence so I would rather put money on the Brit here. Andy isn't the prettiest of players but he's a character and I like it that he always says what he thinks. I hope he keeps that attitude, tennis needs someone like him! ;D Tomas Berdych vs. Richard Gasquet should be the most interesting match. They both are unbelievably talented young players and they both like hardcourts, it’ll be fun to watch. I’d predict that whoever wins today will play Roger in the finals – with a fair chance of upsetting the big champ. Don’t give up on Toronto yet!

Oh nevah!!!! I am not giving up on that one I watched Murray-Moya yesterday followed by the happiest match of my day: Nadal-Berdych. I must say I was very impressed with Murray's performance There is so much thought and feel of the ball there, and his self-confidence is boosting as davis very rightly pointed out. Brad Gilbert must have been a good thing Totally looking forward to Berdych-Gasquet and totally have no idea whom to support LOL. But this will be the match I will be watching with great pleasure ;D Today's OOP: 11.00 amRichard Gasquet - Tomas Berdych followed by Andy Murray - Jarkko Nieminen COME ON ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Evening session 7.30 pm Roger Federer - Xavier Malisse COME ON ROGELIO!!!! ;D followed by Fernando Gonzales - Jose Acasuso VAMOSSSS CHUCHITO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a stress-free afternoon!

After a few games of the 2nd set I was wide awake and thought this might be more interesting than I thought before (hoped it might be anyway) but the 3rd set... OMG Dima didn't deserve to lose a set 6-0. I have no idea who to support now, maybe Richard Gasquet, don't know... Well, at least Santoro/Zimonjic are trough, not that that makes me less fell any better. I sure hope Cinncy will be better.
