Here is some words of Marat who is talking about his match of the first round. It's in french but i'm going to translate it don't worry!
okay here is the translation (i do my best!) :
"I feel a bit nervous because the first match is always tensed. Gonzalez is playing very good so it will be a tough match. But everything can happen, the best as well as the worst. I'll have to play my best game. I love the RG, it's a tournament which has always been important in my career and which gave me good things. It's here that i started in 1998 and the crowd has always supported me very well. So I think i'm going to win against Gonzalez!

. So I think i'm going to win against Gonzalez! That's a dangerous sign for Gonzalez and any other players, If Marat has confidence in himself then there is no one that can stop him Thanks Carole!

So I gets myself up early this morning because The Tennis Channel is showing one of their Master Series Classic matches. It's just described in the guide as Hamburg - Federer v. Safin. I didn't remember what it was and thought it ought to be a good match. I turn it on and here is Marat with the buzz cut (not as handsome as his mature self is now) and I figure it's 2001 or so and it's a final so a 5 setter. Well, it was a horrible match with Federer beating Marat in three straight sets and some embarassing shots by Marat. I was so mad at TTC and am still fuming. I can't figure out how this was a "classic" match, and my email to TTC said as much. Just had to vent and wasn't sure what category this fit in to, so it's here. Monday!
