I don't know what to say after this match........he looks so miserable, so unhappy, so lost! I'm really scared here. Now the pressure will be double......I hope he will be able to handle it! He was different person until he lost to a couple of BP in the first set. Then he start mistake after mistake........83 UE Why he refuse to believe he can win??? He has a problem. A psychological problem,

Oh well you win some and you lose some. Seemingly for marat is lose some. Most important thing for Marat is too rest and practise extra hard for RG, i expect at least a good week from you there I have only one criticism of him he does not believe in himself, even when he was leading the final set he was still fighting with himslef. I really hope he can get some confidence back within himself by Roland Garros DAVAI MARAT

Eurosport - 15/05/06
Russia's Marat Safin was just one of several big names to crash out of the Masters tournament in Hamburg on Monday, as he fell to defeat in three sets to Brazilian qualifier Flavio Saretta. Elsewhere, Guillermo Coria and Thomas Johansson joined Safin on the list of opening day losers.
Safin looked good in the first set, but still struggled to shake of Saretta, who's backhand was brilliant throughout the match. The Russian took the first set 7-5, but he fell to pieces in the second, dropping it to love as Saretta proved his worth.
Safin almost seem to deliberately lose the last game of the second set, as he set his sights on winning the third.
He certainly started well, sounding his intent with a break to love in the first game of the final set, but the 2005 Australian Open champion could not maintain that level of play as he allowed his temper to get the better of him.
Saretta seized his chance and took the match 5-7 6-0 6-4 to set up a second round encounter with David Ferrer of Spain, who had earlier beaten compatriot Feliciano Lopez 6-4 6-2.
