Marats, Marat IS playing in Monaco...well he hasn't withdrawn up to now LOL...

As Ily said the draw will be out TOMORROW.. so we will find out WHO he plays..and on the weekend we'll probably find out WHEN he plays his first match.

What does the fact he's in "Alternates" mean ? It's the first time I see him there ^_^ !

it means his ranking wasn't high enough to get him directly into the tourney but enough people withdrew (like Roddick) that there was enough space for him to be in the draw without needing a wildcard or playing qualies

Yeah this is the only tournament Marat was an alternate. I think he is the last direct acceptant for the hamburg masters but this will be the only time as hopefully the only places he will be going ranking wise is UP.
I am sure since Marat reached the last 4 in Valencia he may get a Tuesday start (Weather Permitting - I saw a report on the news from Monte Carlo and it was showering)

First PHM in 1st round then possible clash with Coria or Misha.
Not looking too far ahead but Rafa on clay in the QF

Okay guys the Doubles draw is just out and posted in the 1st thread and Marat is partnering LEVINSKY, Jaroslav (CZE) and will face nonother than World no 1 Roger Federer and partner Yves Allegro who beat Marat in the doubles final at Halle
Igor and Koyla are playing doubles as are britains Tim Henman and Andy Murray
