HUGE thanks to my pal Dora (Wednesday Adams from MTF) for doing her best to tell us all what Marat had been saying in that audio Ily posted Here is what she wrote: - he had a good start, with a break, felt good; he thinks that Pashanski was nervous and couldn't play his game, which made it easier for him (he calls Pashanski "chico" , as in "kid") - he thinks that these two matches are good to build confidence for future big tournaments, his knee doesn't hurt, which is good; and he said he played better than in the first day - he talks about Gaudio, says he's a favourite, that he likes playing against him, that he's got a lot of talent and confidence (??) and that it's going to be "complicated" - he's asked about Almagro and Verdasco. He says that Almagro is young, has lots of talent and hunger and he beat him once in Rome, but what happens is, he plays a few good tournaments, and then it doesn't go so well anymore. But, nevertheless, he is dangerous and has a lot of confidence since he just beat Ferrero and he will be a tough opponent in the semis for him or Gaudio. As for Verdasco.... *lots of mumbling from Marat*... pretty young and a solid player, he would make an interesting opponent for.... "el"  .... Almagro, methinks. He can't say who's gonna win. I'm a little confused as to what he's being asked next. Anyway, he says "thanx" and then says he thinks his match against Gaudio is going to be difficult, since they were both top ten. And that it would have been better if.... they played the final together - next he's asked abt Valencia again. He says he's got friends here, family, dentist physios, etc.... he's lived here for eight years, he knows the city, blah blah I have no idea what he's being asked next, but the answer is "3 months". - then he says that it's difficult to come back and play good, esp since you've been out for such a complicated injury, because at times it (the knee) bothers you, esp when you have long matches ( ), but, still, not as much as before. You have to be careful with it, travel with a doctor/physio that massages it and puts all sorts of crap on it (that was mine ) before the match. It's a little difficult, but pretty good. Marat - the first few weeks are hard, because you lose your rhythm, confidence, etc.... And that's it. It ends rather abruptly. __________________ |
