YAY, Annie. Great report and pics  Sounds like you had a great time and love the riot part with the fans, lol.  Bravo to Russia for winning and Annie for cheering them on so hard she hurt her throat. ;D  |

OK I am done....phew...thanks girls!!! I tried...enjoy all the photos....some nice ones of all the boys there are in every thread of theirs....I also scanned all the autographs I got and they are there too  OK, now that I am done with my community services, I gotta go write some PMs |

This may be old but what an achievement these guys did especially Igor in the last rubber but Davai Davydenko brilliant through out and bring on the croatians as Marat and Nikolay bring russia back the cup

MOSCOW, Russia -- Australian Open champion Marat Safin has been recalled to the Russia team to face Croatia in their Davis Cup semifinal in Split next month.
Safin missed the quarterfinal win against France because of a knee injury.
However, captain Shamil Tarpishchev announced that the former world number one will return to the squad for the tie from September 23-25.
Tarpischev said that Safin and Nikolai Davydenko would spearhead the line-up. Mikhail Youzhny and Igor Andreyev were also included in the team.
However, Tarpishchev confirmed that Safin was still suffering pain in his left leg, adding that he would also call up Dmitry Tursunov, who would replace Safin if necessary.

I am not going to put my hopes up too high THIS time....was too painful in July  But then it was a blast ;D Marat said that he's going to Croatia 23-25 Sep but let's just wait and see how that knee business goes, shall we? As for Tursunov, he never played for the team at DC, he was called once but he refused, so I don't know if he will join this time  |
