personally i think it is only neccesary for Marat to play one rubber as i am sure Andreev/Davydenko are better than anyone chile can come up with . As i think they have been doubles partners in Atp events this year.

Hi guys, Marat kinda hinted in the Russian press that he won't be playing the dubs in Moscow, i.e. that Igor/Kolya will, if everything is OK.

The two Davis Cup captains Shamil Tarpishev and Sergio ELIAS have selected the two teams. Russia. Marat Safin Mikhail Yozhny Igor Andreev Nikolay Davydenko. Chile Fernando Gonzalez Hermes GAMONAL Adrian Sr. GARCIA Paul CAPDEVILLE Tie Information. World Group 2005 1st Round Olympic Stadium, Moscow, Russia Stadium Capacity: 9297 04 March - 06 March 2005 Day 1: 1400hrs (GMT 1100hrs) Day 2: 1500hrs (GMT 1200hrs) Day 3: 1400hrs (GMT 1100hrs) Surface: Carpet (Taraflex) - Indoors Ball Type: Penn ATP Personally i think a 5-0 win is the only outcome to me and hopefully Marat will only be needed for one rubber. actually, that's the webmaster pick for the tie...though i DO THINK the russian lineup won't be very different, unless of course...someone gets injured... as for the chilean team..not too sure.

Ppl. Shamil offiicially named the 4 guys listed above for the tie. And I thought I'll say it here - Steph - PHM is in the French squad with Monfils, Clement, Llodra. You certainly know this, I just wanted to cheer - PHM, PHM once again. ;D You can see the DC tie vs Sweden on TV right? BTW, if you haven't heard - PimPim is out injured (inflammation in the shoulder). Soderling, ToJo for singles, Bjorkman and Aspelin for dubs it seems.

Argentina has replaced Gaudio with Augustin Calleri It has nothing to do with Russia and Chile but it surprised me.

Wish the Russian team can win the first 3 matches. Then Marat can fly to CA, USA, prepare for The Pacific Open. I want to see the Aussy Champion show his good performance to John Mc. on his homeland.

Peeps, OMG I got a good laugh!!!!!! ;D ;D In the news on NTV+Sport they showed the preparations for the DC!!! Dunno if anyone else saw this. First they showed the Chileans who already arrived and for the first time tried the courts at Olimpiisky/Olympic however you like to call the Sports Arena. They interviewed Fernando and Nando said the courts were really fast and they in Chile are more used to slower clay courts. Nando looked good. Long hair. :)Then the Russians came to train. And OMG OMG - Marat with hair like he hadn't combed it since he got out of bed. ;D ;D When he was hitting the hair looked a bit better. He sat on the floor courtside when Nando came and they shook hands for very long and exchanged some warm hellos. For all Zhenya fans - Zhenya was there hitting and, well, cannot say if he's over 105 kg but he looked prettttty big. I'm not the best person to judge, he had a "windbreaker" or jacket on or how you call it, but yeah, that was hilarious. He really seems to have problems keeping weight under control without playing tournament tennis every week. As for the Russian team they said the only problem was that Misha's knee was hurting again, then Misha said that he knew only Nando from the Chilean team, had only heard the names of the other players but they didn't show him saying anything about his knee. OK, that's all from the short news clip, the main thing - Marat & Co training already.

oh oh i hope Misha's knee will be ok!... thank you for the little report Maria. Now i can make one for you: they showed the French team training in Switzerland. Playing basketball and other games with the ball. all i can say is: Monfils and Llodra were good... but Seb is our #1 only in tennis ;D they showed PHM but didn't interviewed him, sorry as you said, Pim Pim is out, and Soderling too. So that would be a shame if we lose i'm note sure i'll see PHM on tv though. They'll show only one match on friday, dunnow which one, and i'll be @ work. I wanted to register on the davis cup site for getting results by sms... but they charge you for that ... i'll try to look at the i-net if no one's looking @ me
