Hi people, I'm all hooked up with wires or how to call it but I'll try to post anyway! Good you have most things covered already. I saw the match on video, he started with a wonderful lob that went in, there was also a lovely drop shot at the end of the 1st, I wouldn't worry about the UEs - the conditions were really windy so it was hard to control the ball. He stayed concentrated throughout the match which was good, as you can see Kucera couldn't take any of the BPs he had in the 2nd set. He only screamed once in Russian "Wind, wind", it was really windy I must repeat. They showed Mecir and others from the Slovak delegation but no-one from the Russians so even the commentator was wondering if anyone was there. Good I got the result before I saw the video, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to stay calm during the 2nd set. Pretty many people watching actually I would say (it was MARAT after all ;D), dunno why he was complaining about the lack of spectators, it was pretty decent crowd in the evening, quiet though, and yeah, kinda uneventful match, wich is unusual for our Marat, but good for a change! So keep it up baby! to you all!

Glad to know the wind explains the high number of UE. And about Marat complaining there were'nt many spectators, maybe there were some for his match (as you said, it' Marat after all !!!) but it's true that there are not a lot of spectators in general, for tennis matches but also for other sports. The hotels has become so expensive that on tv they said a lot of foreign spectators and tourists decided not to come to Athens, and so only ppl living in the area can afford to go to the Olympic center Tennis-X.com gave Marat a new nickname: Marat "The Olympics are SO Important" Safin i know they're making fun of him, but it made me laugh ;D

Marat and Mikhail lost the doubles 6-1 6-2 in 48 minutes. Sad but not surprising. they'll be able to focus 100% on the singles now

MariaV thanks so much for the report. Its really really good to know that Marat can go out there and not allow the wind to get to his game other than the expected ue's as a result, this is very satisfing. Thank you.
The commentators for our side were saying that yesterday was a big Greek holiday so maybe that why there were not many spectators, really when you looked at the stands some of the sections hardly had anyone. We have been getting a mixed coverage so its not been too bad.
BTW Congratulations to ALL those countries that have won medals so far. Hope you all can keep winning ;D
