Okay the transcrip from the press conference is on the site, but only in Polish so I've translated it for you (I've translated only those parts from Marat and like I've told you before - it's a bit chaotic ):
- The first round is always the most difficult. There are many Spaniards in this tournament, specialists of playing on clay - in the first round I will face one of them. As for now I train a lot to get used to the surface. Before this I played on the hard courts in USA. Is it wise to come back to clay courts before Athens, where the the surface is also hard? A lot of people ask me about it. I answer them: it's easier to come back from clay to hard than otherwise - it explains everything.
- Did Dinara advise me how to win in Sopot? I remind you that so far I'm the one who won more tournaments, so it's her who should learn from me. I'm here because the second half of the year is very important for me. You have to play many tournaments to prepare yourself for the most important ones - the Olympics and the US Open. That's why I'm saying - it's not true that I'm not going to stay here for long. Playing tennis is my job, which I'm trying to treat serious. It means that in every tournament I want to play as long as it's possible. I would also like to finally win something. The last time I did it was in 2000 (I don't know if it was Marat who said that or it's the jurnos, but we all know that the last time he won somethnig was in 2002). So I'm not in a hurry to Athens. Besides there are many planes flying to that place so there is no problem.
Myskina: We're going to Athens together so I'll look after Marat (LOL). I don't know how much they pay for the gold medal because we're not playing for the money. Maybe Marat knows...
Marat: Perhaps there is a lot of money, but if I don't win I won't see them and it will mean that I didn't deserve them. I don't see any connection between broken raquets and visiting the psychologist. It's true that I break a lot of raquets, but since I get them for free I don't care about it. Besides a psychologist doesn't help people - they help only themselfs. He gets money for listening to what we say - the words reflect like in a mirror and they come back.
- I associate Poland with Lech Walesa. And if you want to know something more, also with stolen cars, which go through your country from Germany to Russia (ROTRL thanks Marat!!! ;D). I also remember the match with Michal Chmela (a Polish player) which I lost easily. I would like to heve better memories though. But as far as I know it was the olny one such a victory for Chmela. After this match he disapperared.
