hey Kasey! welcome to the board! Jiat>> thanks a lot for the pics, videos (tho i gave up too ), and articles. amazing job that you've done, thanks a lot!!! and i love your comments as well (and share the indignant look too! ;D) i'm amazed by the number of photos that have been released already. he hasn't played a match yet! but they are good ones, especially the ones with Ferrero (i love the pic where Marat takes the racket from JC's hands.... like he was saying: don't touch this boy, you could hurt yourself, give it to me) ;D

Don't want to spoil the light hearted mood, but many people in Russia don't like Leonid, because of his.... Atleast give us a clue on what they are saying...Don't leave us hanging! By the way, I know that I'm a wee bit late, but Welcome Kasey

i'm sorry if u all woke up hoping for results. rain delay. i came back from school hoping for the same thing and see thephoto of the court being rained on. ah well. yes. beijing and singapore, same time zone. woohoo!
and i found another article. but i'm sooo not gonna translate it.
here's the gist of things.
marat and moya played an exhibition match. loads of fans gathered to watch. marat was in a good mood. marat won with some nice shotmaking (or so they say). moya wasn't in a very good mood cos of the "loss". marat's mood was very good. marat signed autographs for everyone who wanted one, even though there were like 10 guards surrounding him. and when he tried to sneak more autographs, the guards stopped him hahahaha... moya wasn't in a very good mood. didn't sign autographs. awww. that's about it.

There's an article I translated fromCHO offical website. ;D the source: www.chinaopen.cn/20040914/n222034737.shtmlSafin won the exhibition game with Moya September 14,2004 Everyone doesn't want to lose before the match, but 1st seed Moya was caught with this bad luck situation. Yesterday Moya and Safin showed up in the central court to join in an exhibition game which was organized by sponsors. Safin who enjoyed showing himself won the match, which made Moya depressed a lot even he didn't pay any attention to disappointed little fans nearby. Moya and Safin were the most popular players in this tournament without doubt. Before the exhibition game started, many little fans had been full filled the stand. Later on, the two players showed up the training field. Each of them was around by four bodyguards and several public security. With a few words, they began to practise after they put down their bags. Meanwhile the emotions of fans raised up too. They wielded the prepared posters. Looking from the stand, fans of these two players were equal more or less. Although it was boisterous off the court, on the court the performance of these two were quite different. Safin was very excited from beginning to the end, perhaps he was more suitable for the court and atmosphere. Several wily points of fall of his forehand made Moya helpless. Compared with Safin, Moya was difficult to be excited and find feelings on the court all the time, even it seemed that he didn¡¯t take it very serious. He lost the match very easily at last. Losing made Moya much unhappier. He sat here, wiping sweat, and then went away with his bag, even didn¡¯t care the sign book or posters which was given by the little fans. However, Safin who got "the first victory" was very delighted. He satisfied almost everyone who asked for signs, even when he walked outside with several bodyguards, he tried to accept a sign book from a fan which was stopped by the bodyguard unfortunately. Safin made a face to him (or she) with a shrug.

YES, u know i'm really not good at it. sometimes i referred to dictionary, and it spent me nealy an hour to translate. ;D but it doesn't matter, HAHA, i really like this article, especially the last, "he made a face", how lovely he was. what's more, yesterday there was an activity that many players signed for fans. Many people around me said Marat was very friendly and sweet. ;D but unfortunately i didn't have time to go there.
