Mónaco Y Puerta in semifinals!!!!! ;D Maybe an all-argentine final?! Hey, SAFINNO1!!!! You previously asked me about some predictions!!!! I made a correct one!!! ;D ;D ;D Argentine final in Casablanca!! Mariano Puerta (26 years old) may win his first title in 5 years (a great comeback!!!!!) and if Juan Mónaco (21 years old) wins this will be his first ATP title. I´m happy for both of them. There are some news about David Nalbandian too. Not very good ones . I didn´t know this one, but he had (is having??) a liver problem that started in Indian Wells and bothered him till Key Biscayne. He is not playing in Monte Carlo (withdraw). I read in argentine newspapers that he was travelling to Monaco the 7th of April.... I´ve been reading some Nalbandian´s forums and nothing is known yet...... I wish it´s nothing serious. Maybe a rally? (David loves car races, specially rallies. He never misses the Córdoba rally (his province). He is allways injured by that time of the years ;D ;D) The other news is that he won´t be playing the World Team Cup in Düsseldorf. The information is that Coria and Gaudio will be there (and other player not known yet). He won´t play in Düsseldorf as he wants to be well prepared for Roland Garros.

Puerta won. He defeated Juan Monaco 6-4 6-1. It was Puerta´s second final of 2005 (first one defeated by Gaudio in Buenos Aires).

This is a Babelfish translation . I hope you can understand it. The spanish link: www.clarin.com.ar/diario/2005/04/12/deportes/d-05504.htmTENNIS . Nalbandian Improvement -------------------------------------------------------------------------- David Nalbandian returned yesterday to the training after undergoing a virus in the liver. According to his trainer, Eduardo Infantino said to him to "Clarín" (the newspaper) , the cordobés "is not to the one hundred percent". Not yet the date of his return to the international tour is known. Number 8 of the world did yesterday double turn in the "Vilas club". "We are going to evaluate", said Infantino, on the steps to follow. Nalbandian underwent a gastroenteritis before the Davis Cup tie between Argentina and Czech Republic and is probable that this virus has been lodged in his body. Although he is in weight, Nalbandian still is recovering physically, since he is weaker because of the loss of the defenses.
All his technical team is seeing if the tennis player of Unquillo can participate in Rome´s tournament (that begins the 2 of May and where it defends the points of last year´s final) and they are optimistic that he´ll be well for Roland Garros.
Due to this disease, Nalbandian withdraw from Masters Series of Monte Carlo . Even, after his elimination in Miami he said that he had some kind of hepatitis. I know this is too psychological, but: father´s death - stress - low defenses and digestive problems - diseases All makes sense to me I don´t say this surely happended, but this could happened......

Good day for argentine players!!! ;D ;D M Puerta (ARG) d (5)C Moya (ESP) 76(10) 16 63 M Zabaleta (ARG) d (3)T Henman (GBR) 64 46 62 (9)G Canas (ARG) d I Andreev (RUS) 76(10) 61 lau a really good day for the Argentine players I saw the Moya Puerta match, it was something else. My god Puerta was playing really agressively, he just like blew Moya off the court, not that Moya did not play well, but he was really stretched by Puerta. I have never seen Puerta play before and he was impressive, really. They had a real dog fight. I could not believe that Moya had the tie break 5-1 and let Puerta back in to take the set, remarkable, and then winning the second 6-1, Puerta just like re-incarnated himself in the third set and came back with a vengence, it was something to see. I felt sorry for Moya's parents who were obviously distressed at Moya's loss, because he really fought but just could not close out, and as for Moya, he was so unemotional, actually both of them were pretty unemotional, it was one super charged match. Will be interesting to see how Puerta continues to play in the tournament BTW i saw Nadal looking at Moya's match, he was really anxious, and did not seem to comfortable with the camera panning to him all the time Also, poor Nalbandian, thanks for giving us the update, I hope he recovers soon.

I have never seen Puerta play before and he was impressive, really. He practically didn´t play well (or played at all) for almost 4 or 5 years. He had a coulple of surgeries in his wrist (a really serious injury), had an accident in the elevator of his house (it fell 2 floors!!!!!! ) and then he had a suspension from the ATP (he couldn´t play for 6 months) for doping for taking a medicine for his asthma. BAD, BAD LUCK!!!!!! Five years ago he was allways in the top 20 players..... He started playing Challengers and Futures and he could start playing ATP tournaments in Buenos Aires (argentina) at the beggining of this year. He recieved a wild card. When he defeated Moya in Buenos Aires (the first time he did so this years) in his box his relatives where crying and hugging ;D ;D It was a very emotional moment. Gaudio said that he saw him and his relatives in the players lounge and he thought that everyone deserves at least for one time in a lifetime a moment of such joy and happiness Continuing with past RG juniors finals, here is a photo of 1995 juniors final between Mariano Puerta and Mariano Zabaleta ;D ;DCoria won today!! (6)G Coria (ARG) d (Q)T Ascione (FRA) 62 61 Good luck to Marat!!!! and to all argentine players today! ;D
