DAVID WON TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO Yeah!!! and Guillermo too!!. I knew about David inside a cab..., haha. The arg. football team was playing against Germany and the taxi driver was listening the radio with the match. Suddenly, a commentator says :"David Nalbandian has just won his match against Sluiter in Wimbledon", and I screamed a little "Siiiii". The taxi driver didn´t understand nothing..., specially when before they said that about David´s match, the arg. team scored a goal and I didn´t react, hahahaha ;D ;D ;D ;D (that is almost a sin here, haha).

Updated: June 22, 2005, 11:07 AM ET Canas pulls out of Davis Cup, says he's innocentReuters lau BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Guillermo Canas, who is No. 8 in the world, has told Argentine media that he is being investigated by the ATP over a positive doping test. Canas, in an interview published by respected newspapers La Nacion and Clarin, said he was pulling out of the Davis Cup tie against Australia next month because of the investigation. He said that he was innocent. "I'm being investigated by the ATP for doping," he told La Nacion, adding that the governing body's rules had stopped him from speaking on the matter before. "The matter of the positive is difficult. I don't know what happened. I've been over everything I've taken with my team and there is nothing which is prohibited. I trust the system. I hope it's a mistake and nothing more. "I've never looked to take anything extra or anything which isn't permitted to gain an advantage in tennis," added Canas who has also withdrawn from Wimbledon. Both newspapers said that the alleged positive test happened during the Acapulco ATP tournament in February in Mexico. The ATP said on Wednesday it could not confirm or deny the test. "I've kept quiet for a long time because the ATP didn't allow me to speak," Canas said. "I don't know how the rumors started and I'm not interested. Now, I've got chance to speak and I want people to know from my own mouth." He added, "In doping, there are a lot of medicines which give positive results but which are not drugs. A herb tea infusion can give a positive result." Another high-profile player, Briton Greg Rusedski, also revealed last year he had given a positive test for nandrolone before the results were announced by the ATP. The 1997 U.S. Open finalist later successfully argued that the ATP's own supplement drinks could have caused the result and he was exonerated. Canas' compatriots Guillermo Coria and Mariano Puerta have been suspended in the past. Coria was banned for seven months and fined $98,500 in 2001 after testing positive for nandrolone. Puerta was suspended for nine months after he was found to have the banned substance clenbuterol in his system during a doping test at a tournament in Chile in 2003.

Updated: June 22, 2005, 11:07 AM ET Canas pulls out of Davis Cup, says he's innocentReuters lau Yes, Karen.... I knew about the rumour 2 days ago. I didn´t want to post anything because it was just a "national" rumour... And then I didn´t want to post anything because it was just too sad Sad, sad, sad (sp. for arg. tennis..... and for Guille, of course). I really can´t say nothing more. I trust in Guillermo..... If I have to trust in an arg. player in such an issue, I would choose Guillermo without any doubt... But that`s just my opinion. And with this, I`m saying "Goodbye" to any chance we had in DC (if we had one...)

But,.... you know...., I`m only expecting David to have good results on grass. About the others....., Willy (Cañas) in my opinion is the other "good" arg. player on hard court and grass. I don´t expect much from Guille and.....the rest..... it`s better not to talk about their performance/record on grass I really don`t think we have any chance at all in Australia, against Australian on grass... If a miracle happends, maybe.... .... Naahhh, .............no chance really. About Coria (TOUGH 5 set match against Malisse!!!) and David (GREAT match of David!!) today: WWooooooooooooOOOhhhhHHHHooooOOOOO!!!! ;D ;D

Lau, I agree with you... From what I know of the Arg players, Guille Cañas is a reliable person and I'm sure there has been a mistake... The doping agency has often been criticized for detecting things where they were not. I hope he'll be cleared soon. As for DC, with David, everything is possible

I don't know lau, I won't jinx it.....the DC. For Canas, yes, probably took a nasal decongestant, tennis has the most strict list of banned substances in any sport. It's pretty ridiculous

From what I know of the Arg players, Guille Cañas is a reliable person and I'm sure there has been a mistake... The doping agency has often been criticized for detecting things where they were not. I hope he'll be cleared soon. Well, I think that probably he took (or drunk or ate) something contaminated. Even in that case, even if he didn´t do it for a better performance, I think he will be declared guilty..... Those are the rules... And I think that in the case of pro tennis, it`s the ATP who does the doping test, not other organization...., but I`m not sure about it..... As for DC, with David, everything is possible I don't know lau, I won't jinx it.....the DC. I hope so..... But I prefer to think that they won´t do it this year... If my boys are lucky and specially talented on grass those days..., I`ll be pleasantly surprised, ;D.... Anyway, David and Guillermo won today!!!! ;D David Nalbandian d. Andy Murray 6-7(4) 1-6 6-0 6-4 6-1 Guillermo Coria d. Jurgen Melzer 3-6 3-6 6-2 6-2 6-4

Last year he reached a gras court final before W..... I know he is NOT a grass court player at all..... But he wants to improve, it`s working on that.... and he doesn´t slip as he used to!!! ;D I saw one of his matches and I was very surprised that he didn´t slip even once (at least while I was watching). Anyway, David is my boy in W, now (after Marat`s match against FLo) ;D David Won!!!!! Nalbandian d. Gasquet 64, 76 (3), 60 !!!!!He is in QF and his next match is against T. Johansson....

Nalbandian ends teenager Gasquet's run
By Pritha Sarkar
LONDON, June 27 (Reuters) - An ill-tempered David Nalbandian charged into the Wimbledon quarter-finals with a 6-4 7-6 6-0 victory over France's hot prospect Richard Gasquet on Monday.
Two days after ending the challenge of 18-year-old British hopeful Andrew Murray, Nalbandian captured the scalp of the last teenager in the men's draw en route to the last eight for the first time since 2002, when he lost in the final.
The Argentine 18th seed's victory set up a last eight meeting with former Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson.
Despite running away with the final set, Nalbandian did not have it all his way against the talented young Frenchman, who had claimed his first ATP tour title on grass at Nottingham.
Midway through the second set, trailing 3-1 and attempting to gain a break back in the fifth game, he became embroiled in a heated exchange with umpire Wayne McKewen.
Nalbandian marched up to the Australian and shouted: "You can't tell me you didn't see that (ball) fall on the line?"
McKewen retorted: "Be careful with what you're saying."
Nalbandian then appeared to calm down and swiftly broke Gasquet to get back on to level terms.
Gasquet matched Nalbandian's tenacious baseline play with some blistering shots of his own during the first two sets but once the Argentine had clinched the tiebreak 7-3, the 27th seed simply wilted on a baking court two.
