So he did it, once again, as some would say. But well, every title is a different one, and I hope the memories won't mix up in his head in a few years !!! That makes 9. At just 25. AMAZING ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D And it seems like he played great tennis (I couldn't watch it due to the shi*** livestream of Eurosport.com which didn't work for most of the match), Andy really pushed him, and made him play to his fullflight. I guess this was beautiful and I can't wait to watch the match tomorrow when it will be released. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS ROGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and I'm also on the waiting list for the FederBear... Just too cute )

Federer Wins US Open; Makes New Friends Is Tiger Woods the Roger Federer of golf? Or is Roger Federer the Tiger Woods of tennis? The two men who dominate their respective sports came face-to-face for the first time Sunday before and after Federer's four-set win over Andy Roddick in the US Open final. The pair met in the referee's office about 75 minutes before the final and hooked up again in the locker room after the match. Federer also met with rock star Gavin Rossdale and Woods also spoke with Roddick. Federer said of the meeting in his post-match press conference: "It's very nice to get to meet him finally after all the time we've been trying to get to see each other in Shanghai. I remember I was there in Dubai when he was there. He plays so much in the States, that when I'm here, you would think that we would get a chance to see each other. Our schedules, they collide. More and more often over the last year or so, I've been kind of compared to Tiger, what he's doing on the golf tour, me doing on the tennis tour. So today was kind of the day where finally we got to meet and chat a little longer. I asked him how it was for him. It's funny because many things were similar. He knew exactly how I kind of felt out on the court. That's something that I haven't felt before, a guy who knows how it feels to feel invincible at times and, when you just have the feeling like there's nothing going wrong any more. In the fourth set, for instance, I guess, for him on the final round, he knows exactly how it feels. That's what was so interesting to talk to him about. Of course that's not all we talked about. We talked about other things, but it was just really great fun to get to meet him. My parents are great golfers, so he was nice enough to talk to them, as well, over the phone. They're not in bed yet, so it was great. He's very nice, and much nicer than I expected. I thought him to be nice, but he's really, really nice."

what else is there to say about this guy? All i can say i'm privileged to be able to say i have watched the Great Roger Federer - in years to come. I'm looking ahead but Sampras GS record is gonna be destroyed in the next couple of years- Marat Permitting! Roger Federer and Andy Roddick pose for the obligatory pre-match photo before their US Open final at Flushing Meadows Martina Navratilova, who was earlier inducted into the US Open's Court of Champions, carries out the coin toss Federer takes his second championship point to win a third successive US Open title and ninth Grand Slam crown Federer has now won three Grand Slam titles in a year on two occasions and next year will try for that elusive French Open win

Federer Clinches Year-End No. 1 With Historic Victory ATP superstar to finish on top of INDESIT ATP Race for third consecutive year
More records in sight as Federer prepares for fall season
US Open champion Roger Federer has clinched the year-end ATP World No. 1 ranking for the third year running with his victory in New York. Federer also is on track to break his own INDESIT ATP Race points record.
Federer celebrated his US Open win with a champion’s tour of the Big Apple today. After a media round table at the Peninsula Hotel, Federer headed to the Rockefeller Center for a photo shoot at Top of the Rock, taken on the 70th floor overlooking Central Park. Federer’s day in Manhattan also included a street meeting with real-life heroes, New York City firemen who recognized the World No. 1, and a bird’s eye view of the catwalk for Fashion Week’s Oscar de la Renta show as a guest of Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. A day earlier, Tiger Woods (a guest of Federer’s in his players’ box), Jim Carrey, Christie Brinkley and Ben Stiller were among a host of celebrities who attended the Open final.
The 25-year-old Federer has put together one of the most prolific seasons in history, compiling eight titles and a 70-5 match record on the year with two months remaining. For the second time in his career, Federer won three Grand Slam titles in the same season, following his second Australian Open title in January and his fourth consecutive Wimbledon championship in July. Federer is the first player since Rod Laver in 1961-62 to reach six consecutive Grand Slam finals, and also is the first man to reach all four Grand Slam finals in a calendar year since Laver in 1969. Federer has won three 2006 ATP Masters Series titles: Pacific Life Open (Indian Wells), Sony Ericsson Open (Miami) and the Roger Masters (Toronto).
In his past 45 tournaments, Federer has compiled an incredible 225-15 record and 30 titles, including nine of the past 14 Grand Slam titles. He has won 70 or more matches in a season for four consecutive years.
