Misha's currently playing Qatar Exxon Mobil Open.... as 5th seeded player! 1) he won his 1st round at the Qatar Exxon Mobil Open. He posted a 2 set win against Daniel Bracciali, a 7-5, 6-3 2) Second round he is playing 2nd seeded Ivan Ljubicic Doubles Misha is partnering with Nenad zimojic, and beat Ruben RaminezHidalgo& Fillippo Volandri....expected to play P Kohlschreiber& R Suderling.... Mikhail Youzhny and Nenad Zimonjic claimed the Doha doubles crown in only their second event outing as a tandem, defeating third seeds Martin Damm and Leander Paes 6-1, 7-6(3) in Friday's final  DOHA ?Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia shocked third seeded Leander Paes of India and Czech Republic’s Martin Damm 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) to win the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2007 doubles title at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex yesterday. Youzhny-Zimonjic pair beat the third seeded duo to win the ATP title for the first time together. The pair had played once before where they had reached the quarter-finals in St. Petersburg last year. Youzhny added a second doubles crown while it was the 14th for Zimonjic. Youzhny and Zimonjic notched a comfortable 6-1 victory in the first set but found it hard to register the next set win when the match was decided in the tie-breaker. The pair took one hour and 26 minutes to claim the title. Third seeded Paes and Damm were the favourites to win the final clash but were upset by their opponents. They had a 29-18 record last year, winning at Hertogenbosch in June and the US Open in September. They were finalists at the Australian Open and had reached semi-finals at the Masters Cup in Shanghai in November. |
