After his loss in quarterfinals in Indian Wells to Andy Murray, Kolya is off to Miami with the rest of the gang. Current ranking is still 4th behind Federer, Nadal and Roddick. He reached the quarterfinals in Miami last year so this year we have some points to defend SONY ERICSSON OPEN Miami, U.S.A. March 18, 2007 Davydenko, Schneider Support 'Feed The Children'© Sony Ericsson Open World No.4 Nikolay Davydenko and Sony Ericsson WTA Top 20 player Patty Schneider visited Crandon Park Track in Miami during the lead up to the 2007 Sony Ericsson Open. The duo teamed up with tournament staff and volunteers from America’s third largest international charity ‘Feed the Children’ to help load more than 347,000 pounds of food, beverages and personal care products into 14 trucks that will be distributed to more than 50 hunger relief agencies across South Florida. This year’s Sony Ericsson Open marks the eleventh time that Feed The Children will be involved with the tournament. Over the past 10 years the tournament has supplemented more than 16 million meals to over 163,000 families at an estimated value of close to US$5 million. “It’s important for the players to take an interest in what the tournaments are doing for those that are less privileged than ourselves. We have the luxury of always knowing that food is going to be available for us, so it is good that the tournament is helping promote this charity and helping the kids of America,” said Davydenko in between loading one of the trucks.Feed The Children is an essential partner to the national, state and local organizations it works with. Feed The Children reaches 50,000 partner agencies made up of feed centers, homeless shelters, churches and other charitable organizations that depend on it to help provide food and other necessities to the children and families most in need in their communities. Tournament Director Butch Buchholz commented “We at the Sony Ericsson Open have received tremendous support over the years from the South Florida community and this is an opportunity for us to give something back." Davydenko will take on Thailand’s Danai Udomchoke or Germany’s Simon Greul in his opening round match on Friday or Saturday.www.atptennis.com/en/news/2007/feed1.asp

Davydenko overcomes injury to advance in Barcelona By Simon Cambers
BARCELONA, April 25 (Reuters) - Second seed Nikolay Davydenko overcame a troublesome right shoulder and a difficult opponent in fellow Russian Yuri Schukin to reach the third round of the Barcelona Open on Wednesday.
Davydenko, beaten in his first match in Monte Carlo last week, struggled for form again before scrambling his way to a 6-4 3-6 6-2 victory.
The world number four looked on course for an easy win when he led by a set and 2-0, but world number 218 Schukin, who was appearing in his first ATP Tour event of the year, hit back to level.
Davydenko was then broken in the first game of the final set, but after having treatment at 1-2, reeled off the next five games to set up a clash with either Spanish 14th seed Nicolas Almagro or Italian Filippo Volandri.
Eighth seed Juan Ignacio Chela also advanced with a 6-3 6-3 victory over American Vince Spadea 6-3 6-3.
He will play the winner of the all-Italian battle between Potito Starace and Simone Bolelli, who upset Marat Safin in the first round.
Later on Wednesday, top seed Rafael Nadal begins the defence of his title with a second-round encounter against Belgian Kristof Vliegen.
Nadal is bidding to become only the second man, after Swede Mats Wilander, to win the Barcelona Open in three successive years.
