To my great disappointment Kolya lost his first match in TMS Madrid against Pim Pim 4/6 7/6 3/6 I hope that he does better in Bercy and considering that Blake and Ljuibicic are out of Madrid too that still gives us some time to gain points to secure a place in top 8 for Shanghai

i think it's very strange that most players in contention for the final 8 have lost. Kolya, Ljubicic, Baghdatis, Blake, and ancic.

They want to keep up the excitement to the very last minute, it's all planned ;D Annie, Kolya will definitely go to Shanghai, he has far too many points to be kicked out by anybody

Nikolay Davydenko met with children
St. Petersburg Open 2006 first-seeded Nikolay Davydenko visited the Children`s house ¹32 on Tuesday. The player talked with the children over tea and told them of his successes. The children were interested in the trips that accompany the career of the tennis professional.
Nikolay said that since he is young and has the energy to travel much, he participates in about thirty tournaments a year. Davydenko noted he tries to plan his schedule in such a way that time zones and climatic changes would pass maximally painlessly. Nikolay visited practically all countries and continents; the only continent he did not visit is Africa. Though, Nikolay is not very enthusiastic about the idea of visiting the black continent. The private life of the player was not left disregarded, of course; Nikolay said that he was going to marry a month later. His future wife is not directly related to sport, which is, according to Nikolay, is very nice. The children were given memorable presents from the tournament organizers, they could also get an autograph of the world number five tennis player. The children, in their turn, wished Davydenko good luck on the tennis courts. They also promised to come to the tournament today to support Nikolay during his match against Fabrice Santoro.

Kolya retired from his match in St. Petersburg yesterday against Weslie Moodie. Twisted his ankle at 5/2 in the first set, took it 6/2 and at 3 all was forced to retire I think it's a wise decision prior to Bercy and possibly Shanghai...better safe than sorry Get well Kolenka
