OMFG AND YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Zhenya Korolev kicked the living hell out of James Blake in Vegas 6/2 6/4 ;D ;D ;D From atptennis.com Free-swinging Russian teenager Evgeny Korolev stunned top seed and defending champion James Blake 6-2, 6-4 in exactly one hour. Korolev, who last week upset Robby Ginepri in the first round of Memphis, avenged his loss to Blake in the Sydney quarterfinals. Korolev, who celebrated his 19th birthday earlier this month, seized the initiative from the outset of the match by breaking Blake in the first game. "That gave me a lot of confidence right away," Korolev said. "Today was pretty cold to play and we both had a difficult time." Korolev claimed his second win in six meetings against Top 10 players, adding to his victory over Nikolay Davydenko in Marseille last year. After surviving the Main Draw Elimination, Korolev lost his first round-robin match Monday to Juan Martin del Potro, leaving the door ajar for Blake to reach the quarterfinals if the World No. 6 can beat del Potro for the loss of five games or less. DAVAI ZHENECHKA!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is absolutely unbelieveable. The ATP is like a bunch of little kids changing the rules mid-game so they can get their way. I'm beyond disappointed. Evgeny earned his place in the quarterfinals, and unfortunately for Blake, he couldn't finish his match and he couldn't earn it. If Blake is really the guy they make him out to be, he will say something to the tournament directors and Evgeny will be into the quarters. This is just too ridiculous for me.

I don't agree with the rule, I mean, I don't think it's fair that the injured player take the chance away of the non-injured player to continue on the tournament. But, that's the rule and it should be followed.
Listen to me Mr. Disney: You can't just change it 'cause you want to.
Mr. Disney's gonna take away all the credibility of ATP. It's just ridiculous.

But, that's the rule and it should be followed. Totally agree with you. Walkovers should count as much as finished matches. I mean withdrawing is as part of the game as playing. But if the rule was that the walkover does not count, then they should have stick with it and not change it just to keep James in. It's a completely "money speaking" kind of decision and totally unfair to Zhenya. Davai, kid. Don't loose heart over this!
