What a match against Tursunov!!! Bravo my sweetie...I lost another couple of years of my life but it was worth it....and not only does he get into singles final, him and Kolya made it to the doubles final... I just pray he has enough energy for tomorrow...Kiefer has had a much easier run at the Kremlin Cup than Igor....but I have faith Udachi tomorrow sweetie!!!!!!!!!!

MOSCOW Oct 16, 2005 — Igor Andreev won a title for the first time in his home country, overcoming leg and feet problems Sunday to beat Nicolas Kiefer of Germany 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-2 in the Kremlin Cup final.
Mary Pierce won the women's event for her second Kremlin Cup title, a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Francesca Schiavone of Italy. Pierce, who also captured this tournament in 1998, will climb to a No. 5 ranking for the first time in five years.
Andreev, seeded seventh, won his first two ATP titles earlier this season. He led Kiefer 5-3 in the first set before losing eight straight games. He then regrouped for the victory.
"It's unbelievable," the Russian said. "The dream of my childhood has come true."
He fell in the second game of the second set and called for a trainer after the second and third games to treat his left leg. He took a medical timeout after breaking the sixth-seeded German at love in the fifth game.
Andreev won three consecutive games to make it 4-4 and hit his eighth ace to win a tiebreaker and stay in the match. Kiefer then took a medical timeout after the second set to treat his feet. A break put Andreev ahead 3-0 in the third set, and he sealed the victory with a forehand return on Kiefer's serve in the eighth game.

from atptennis.com
Seventh-seeded Igor Andreev of Moscow staged a remarkable comeback to win the Kremlin Cup final against German Nicolas Kiefer in three hours and 14 minutes
The 22-year-old Andreev was down 7-5, 4-0 before a spectacular turnaround in front of wildly enthusiastic sell-out crowd at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow
Andreev levelled the match at 4-all, then forced a second set tiebreak which he won taking four consecutive points from 3-all to 7-3
Kiefer was twice within two points of victory with Andreev serving first at 4-5 then at 5-6
The Russian broke his opponent in the second and last game of the final set finishing with a winning forehand return on his first match point
Andreev becomes the fifth Russian player to win the Kremlin Cup after Andrei Cherkasov (2 titles), Alexander Volkov, Yevgeny Kafelnikov (5 titles) and Nikolay Davydenko
Russian players have a 10-1 record in Kremlin Cup finals with the only loss coming in 1996 when Goran Ivanisevic (CRO) beat Kafelnikov.
The Kremlin Cup is Andreev’s third ATP title of 2005 after Valencia and Palermo, both on clay
Andreev earned 50 INDESIT ATP 2005 Race points and US$142,000
Kiefer has now lost his last eight ATP finals, with his last title coming at Hong Kong in October 2000
It was the 28-year-old German’s first ATP final of 2005
In the doubles final, the third-seeded team of Max Mirnyi and Mikhail Youzhny defeated last year’s Kremlin Cup winners Andreev and Nikolay Davydenko 5-1, 5-1
This is Mirnyi’s 25th career ATP title and Youzhny’s first
Andreev was looking to become the second ‘double’ winner on the 2005 ATP circuit after Roger Federer in Halle with Yves Allegro
WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Andreev: “I cannot believe it, it has always been my dream to win the Kremlin Cup, my home tournament, in front of the Russian people. I was a ball boy at this tournament a few years ago and now I am here with the trophy!”
About coming back from a set and two breaks down: “It was a lot of luck, and maybe he believed a little bit too early in his victory. The crowd was supporting me win or lose and finally I could turn around the match. After the second set I felt more confident in myself that I could win this match.”
Kiefer: “This is very tough to digest, but Igor played very well when he was down and fully deserved to win. If they had told me a week ago I would reach the final in Moscow I would have been happy. I did not play too well this week but still reached the final. There are many things I can still improve so I am hopeful for the future."
Youzhny: "I would like to congratulate Igor for the win in singles and thank Max, one of the best doubles players, for playing with me in Moscow. It's great to win my first doubles title."
