Rib injury ends Henman's season
Tim Henman's season is over after withdrawing from next week's Paris Masters because of a rib injury. The British number one fractured cartilage during his first-round loss to Scotland's Andy Murray in Basel.
However, Henman, who has been plagued by injury this season, said he did not feel any discomfort during the match.
"The one positive thing is that the season is now over for me and mentally I can move on and look forward to next year," said the 31-year-old.
"In terms of my back problem, the last few events have been better, which is why it's so frustrating to have suffered another setback.
"First, I have to recover from this, but once I do that my goal is to work as hard as possible so that I can start next year in the best possible shape.
"I'm very motivated and ready to start working hard to get off to the best possible start next year, when I plan to play a full schedule."

30/10 - 19h50 Day one preview : Rusedski, Haas and Blake get it on
The first day of the tournament will put under the spotlights former winner in 1998, Greg Rusedski from the UK, the German Tommy Haas and hard hitting James Blake of the USA.
The clash of generations The first match of the day will oppose old timer Greg Rusedski actually ranked 37th and performing a come back with two semifinals this year in Indianapolis and in the ATP Masters series of Canada as well as a title in Newport. The Brit with a convincing summer tour in the US has however only played two indoor tournaments this fall (Moscow - 2nd round, AMS Madrid - 1st round). His opponent, is the rising Italian star Andreas Seppi, who brilliantly qualified into the main draw. Ten years younger than his opponent, Seppi will have the advantage of having played two matches already, and will therefore be better aquainted with the conditions.
Finalist vs semifinalist Andrei Pavel and Tommy Haas have something in common, they have both reached at least the semifinals here. In 2001 Haas makes to the semis before losing to the future champ and local hero Grosjean. In 2003, Pavel, after a fantastic run, was runner-up of the edition not able to deal with the offensive game of Tim Henman. Both players have played very few tournaments this fall, and neither seem to have an edge on the match.
Power and touch The two ingredients listed here above will without a doubt form an exciting cocktail. One side of the court, James Blake : recent winner in Stockholm. Ranked 23rd in the world Blake is known for his power and athletisism. On the other hand, the Belgian Olivier Rochus just one ranking below Blake is famous for his outstanding touch and his ability to read the game oh so delightfully. His consistency during this season could allow him to finish in the top 20 a level he has never reached before.
